Memory Error -- It's Greek To Me! The Memory that I am trying to add is identical to the memory that is installed. Both sticks work in slot A but the errors come when both are installed together regardless of which is installed in slot A or slot B. I used Corsair's configurator to determine the correct memory to order. It is Corsair System Select CMSS512MB-266SDD. I have run Memtest86 v3.4 and both sticks passed. I do not have the knowledge to understand the error message, so I need some help here. The computer is Windows XP Pro SP3 with all critical hotfixes installed. If you need more info just let me know what. Here is the error message: MEMORY WRITE/READ FAILURE AT 3FFE00000, READ FE11FE11 EXPECTING 01010101 MEMORY WRITE/READ FAILURE AT 20000008, READ 00EF00EE EXPECTING 00EF00EF DECREASING AVAILABLE MEMORY THE AMOUNT OF MEMORY HAS CHANGED STRIKE F1 KEY TO CONTINUE, F2 TO RUN SETUP Thanks in advance. I am guessing you had no other problems before ...yes or no? If you had no other problems and the ram was correctly/properly installed then it could require some repair of windows and /or your bios...a couple people here have helped me with ram issues...I hope they chime in...in mean time, you can try completely depowering the laptop including removing the battery for at least 5 minutes..I have no idea why, but, it can sometimes help with dell issues!posted at same time as mudhi! I hope you can get in
