Dedicated Server Error Mountfilesystem
like zombies with knifes (see TrackBack below). I had, since then, ran it on my dual core machine. But later, I wanted to try something new.Recently, I had set-up my brand new MSi Wind netbook as a Windows server. Since it's already running 24/7, I wanted to see how well its Intel Atom 1.6 GHz processor will handle the task of running a Counter-Strike: Source dedicated server. So I installed Valve's Steam on the notebook server and started up the Source Dedicated Server. But Murphy's Law presided. Instead of loading up the server, I got the following error message (also shown in the screen shot below) from Steam:Dedicated Server Error
MountFilesystem( 241 ) failed: SteamMountFilesystem(2752,241,0x182ffd64=,0x182ffc54) failed with error 5: no Steam Content Servers are availableI had no clue what this meant. I tried to start a Half-Life2: Deathmatch using the same Source Dedicated Server. It worked just fine. I noticed that Steam had to download the Half-Life 2 engine. I decided to log out of my dedicated server Steam account, log in my player account, and install Counter-Strike: Source that way. After installing Counter-Strike: Source, I logged back into the dedicated server account, launched the Source Dedicated Server and found that Counter-Strike: Source server now works. You basically play by yourself, or as one of four characters online, trying to survive from the zombie on-slaughter. But the 18th is still two weeks away. Tracked: Wed, 05 Nov 2when i load up the dedicated source server i get this error. http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/9492/hiddenservererriowa3.th.jpg (http://img469.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hiddenservererriowa3.jpg) How to fix this? Nothings helpful for some people... Only if you make a step by step guide, use big underlined fonts and red color. No way they are gonna read through few pages of forum or use google (or his smaller brother on forums). We are lazy... nothing we can do about it... however it's not exactly clear on what to do with user-created mods). Coupled with the fact that when I run the hldsupdatetool it opens a second command prompt, displays some text for a split second and closes the window, makes it rather hard to work with. Anyone know of a tutorial that helps? It's also concerning that there doesn't seem to be an apparent fix for my original problem too, as I even commented out all my changes to the stock code (it was simply adding those mount commands) and tried running the GUI SDS again and got the same error. It doesn't sound like a great base to build a multiplayer mod off of? :( - Original Message - From: Adam Buckland [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Discussion of Half-Life Programming hlcoders@list.valvesoftware.com Sent: Sunday, June 15, 2008 9:09 PM Subject: Re: [hlcoders] MountFilesystem(312) failed I had this problem. I think it's a bug in the Steam/GUI version of SrcDS, since when I tried running my mod from the console (ie using hldsupdate tool, etc) it worked fine. The following is what I've placed in gameinterface.cpp: filesystem-AddSearchPath(hl2mp, GAME); filesystem-MountSteamContent(-320); and this is what I've put into cdll_client_int.cpp: filesystem-AddSearchPath(hl2mp, GAME); filesystem-MountSteamContent(-320); as per the wiki page I linked. I tried searching for the text '312' in the solution but found no references to it either... - Original Message - From: Tony omega Sergi [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Discussion of Half-Life Programming hlcoders@list.valvesoftware.com Sent: Sunday, June 15, 2008 6:27 PM Subject: Re: [hlcoders] MountFilesystem(312) failed are you trying to mount 312? because hl2mp's appid is 320 On Sun, Jun 15, 2008 at 2:01 AM, Jason Manson [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi guys, I have a slight problem.
