Messages: 20,433 Hi all, I just purchased a game called Full Spectrum Warrior. whenever I try to run it, I get http://www.computerforum.com/threads/full-spectrum-warrior-error-message.53466/ an error message, "CreateDevice failed". Its not my computer, because I have http://www.club3g.com/forum/gaming-discussion/29654-direct-3d-createdevice-failed-huh.html the right system requirements. Direct3D Error - CreateDevice failed What does this mean? This is the games system requirements SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows® 98/Me/2000/XP (only) AMD Athlon XP or Pentium III 1GHz RAM: 256 MB Any 64Mb DirectX 9.0c-compatible graphics. Yeah but on teh back of the games case it says on teh system requirements Any 64Mb DirectX 9.0c graphics. So therefore if it does not and wont work on my 64Mb then this is false information on the back of the case. Shane, Aug 5, 2006 #3 mrjack VIP Member Messages: 3,198 Very few games actually support integrated GPU's, and I doubt that your Via Unichrome is native DX9.0(c) hardware. Check what SRTest says about your computer when it comes down to running Full Spectrum Warrior. mrjack, Aug 5, 2006 #4 Shane Super Moderator Staff Member Messages: 20,433 System requirements lab wouldnt load on my browser but Windows game adviser did and it also said my graphics failed But how is it they they can print "Any 64Mb DirectX 9.0c-compatible graphics" on the back of the cas

I just bought full spectrum warrior and it won't work on my new HP laptop. It keeps giving me a error saying Direct 3D: CreateDevice failed. What the hell is it talking about?????? It's a brand new HP dv1000 with a 1.6 Centrino and 1 GB RAM. I was wondering if it's the video card???? HELP I'm going nuts here Remove Advertisements Sponsored Links Club3G.com Advertisement 03/10/2005, 04:14 AM #2 (permalink) Keeper Crash test dummy Join Date: Jul 2000 Location: Redmond, WA Posts: 154 I'd be willing to bet you've got two problems: 1) your game reports errors in a craptastic fashion 2) your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements for running the game "CreateDevice" is a Direct3d function that a program uses get access to your video card. The program gives this function a number of different parameters, some of which specify what kind of 3d capabilities that it wants to use; if your video hardware doesn't support those capabilities, the function will tell the program "hey, I can't do that; the hardware doesn't support it". Your game is using this function, and is asking for features that your video card doesn't support. The game needs those features to run, but doesn't have them. So, instead of showing a useful error message indicating that, it shows you a craptastic dialog you had no hope of interpreting. 03/10/2005, 07:22 AM #3 (permalink) Damian hookers and blow Join Date: Oct 2000 Location: New York-ish. It appears it doesn't support DirectX 9, or hardware T&L which is gonna be a big problem with most new games. Using a laptop for gaming is a sketchy proposition at best. You really have to do your homework. Some laptops are better designed for it than others, and have mobile Radeons, etc. There's really nothing you can do here. 03/10/2005, 07:25 AM #4 (permalink) Jason Bicoastal Traveler Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: VA Vehicle: '09 Honda Accord EX Posts: 8,555 What Damian said.
