Disk Read Error Ctrl Alt Del Windows 7
my Windows XP I get this message "Disk read error occurred press Ctl+Alt =Del to restart. Every time I restart I get the same message. Does acer disk read error ctrl alt del anyone have any ideas about the steps I should take in an attempt to fix this problem. I have searched the forums but am a bit lost about some of the suggestions. Any simply explained suugested solutions would be appreciated. Thanks Reports:

Hi Found the original Windows XP installation disk, turned the PC on, inserted the CD a number of times but all I get is the same message "Disk read error occurred press Ctl+Alt =Del to restart" Tried rebooting, installing CD, but only get the same message. Did a chkdsk and all is ok.Did a fixboot via the recovery console. It replaced the boot record.Checked boot.ini. All is ok.Deleted the hibernation partition from the drive.Replaced NTLDR with a known good version.Still does not work.Any ideas please? Wow I just realised how long this post is. Anyway it would be great if anyone can help me. You don't have to read all of it but it contains all the information about what I tried before I came here and I think it'll help A LOT. I thank whoever has the patience to help me. Anyway, a little backstory of when I got this error, I just got my pc fixed not too long ago and I've been getting a lot of updates for windows XP. When I started up my PC, everything worked normally, there was the extremely long boot times, and it always hangs for a while when windows live messenger and gamespy comrade start up simultaneously. But this time, it blue screened and I had to restart my PC. When i restarted my PC, it went through the same sequence, but didn't blue screen. This time I noticed an anomally, there was a window opened that seemed to be a restart countdown to apply updates, just like the one in windows vista, except it looked different, I supposed it was a new feature in a new update. I hit a button that said something to the extent of restart later and continued with what i wanted to do, play team fortress 2. While i was playing team fortress 2, my pc suddenly blue screened again. I restarted my pc and everything went as per usual, and there was no restart timer. I started up team fortress 2 again, and played with no problems. After an hour or so, I went to spectate and left team fortress 2 on idle. When I came back about half an hour later, I came back to see "A Disk Read Error Occured. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart." I did as it said and it went to the same message again. So I checked the BIOS settings (I think that's what it's called - I hit Del while it booted up) I looked through th
