Maybe try using the warranty? Computers do not fix themselves even if you give them 2 months. Warranties do expire however. If you can not even get in BIOS then that suggests the motherboard or power supply failed. Or the video card if it has one. Score 0 TeamBills 9 February 2012 13:29:09 Well I tried it for a few months, and I could get into BIOS fine (didn't know what it was then). Put the computer down for two months, turn it on again and now the screen is black. The warranty is expired that's why i'm so desperate. Kept my computer on for 20 minutes, and the screen eventually stayed black with about a inch and a half white-gray "bar" across the middle of the screen. That has to mean a hard drive error. Press CTRL ALT DEL to restartYep, happened to me as well couple of days ago. Of course the HDD in question is a brand new Maxtor, so I have really good reasons to suspect a HDD failure of some sort (boy, I knew I should've bought a Seagate!). Anyway, I have no problem accessing the data on the hard drive; trouble is I have no room to store 90 Gs elsewhere. Booted with Hiren's latest edn, and also with UBCD4Win 2.5, accessed the data and all. No problem here. Some diags (including, of course, Maxtor's own PowerMax) turned up just fine, others reported problems. Maxtor's Tech Support has been informed, though I really don't expect much from them.
