I've been using Vuze for quite some vuze disk read error mac time but never had any big problems until a week ago. I was downloading a couple of big packs (60 & 90 Gb) when I started getting errors: "disk write fails, flush fails the file *****.avi is in use by another process" I think it might have happened before but then Ive just restarted vuze and it's been fine (probably because of my reasonably fast connection, i e it's finnished downloading before the error

has occured again) anyways after a fair bit of googling I was pretty sure it was some sort of background indexing/scanning that did it so I found this: http://achintyasharma.blogspot.se/2009/1...te_07.html It explains how to figure out what processes are locking the file(s) (also read the comments and don't use Unlocker unless you like malware) In his case it was the thumbnailviewer but for me I found it to be AVAST & windows indexing so I simply turned off the windows indexing for that partition open an explorer window right-click the partition click properties uncheck the last box that says something like "allow for files on this unit to be indexed past the fileproperties" (I have a swedish version of windows) click ok and for AVAST I excluded my vuze download folder from scans: click settings scroll down to exclusions and browse to or enter the path for your downloadfolder (in my case E:\downloads\vuze downloads) click ok Filezilla was also using that folder but since I wasn't using it I just uninstalled it, not sure if it was causing any problems but I wouldn't think so, just figured I'd mention it Anyways I hope this can be of help to someone and I hope I didn't break too many forum rules :) /Kn4s Find Reply brutalseverity Fresh Torrenter Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Joined: Nov 2015

Vuze Error Disk Write Error Flush Fails
Reputation: 0 #1 09-25-2015, 11:47 PM Greetings All! I've been a daily vuze disk write error flush inconsistent entry length user of Vuze for many years and have recently encountered a problem that I've never seen before: whenever I start downloading vuze disk read error a torrent file, the download works normally for a few minutes, then without warning the little green smiley face icon on the left turns red and the download stops with the following error message: http://forum.vuze.com/Thread-Disk-write-error-in-use-by-another-process "Error: Disk write error-flush fails, open fails, file not found:" This has started happening only recently and I've tried restarting Vuze, running anti-virus scans, rebooting my PC (running Windows 7 with all current updates), etc., but nothing seems to correct this problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? What is the solution? Find Reply billyboy999 Fresh Torrenter Posts: 3 Threads: 1 Joined: Sep 2015 Reputation: 0 #3 09-27-2015, 12:13 PM Does the file actually exist? Could be anti-virus getting deleting the file. But I am not very confident about that . . . it is another possibility however. Find Reply « Next Oldest | Next Newest » Possibly Related Threads... would leave my computer idle for some time I would get an error message from one to many of the torrents. This drove me nuts. I use my computer to download a LOT of stuff, http://achintyasharma.blogspot.com/2009/10/how-to-solve-vuze-azuerues-disk-write_07.html and my computer runs 24 X 7, with Vuze usually downloading something in the background. http://www.ryananddebi.com/2007/07/26/how-to-fix-the-azureus-file-close-fails-errors/ So I had to do a little digging, and the culprit turned out to be other processes. This is really weird. Vuze worked perfectly just some time ago, but now it keeps giving me problems. That's crazy! The error that Vuze would spew out consistently was "File close fails: flush fails, open fails" and it would go on rambling disk read about not able to access a file. Now there are two things to notice here:1.The problem would not happen when you would immediately restart the torrent.2.The problem would occur to random files (But mostly to those files that are being downloaded/written to). Some process was obviously locking the file and preventing it from being written to by Vuze. So how do we solve this? I would not give out a process name yet, but I'll disk read error write the steps that you can use to find the culprit process. You would need the following 2 utilities.1.Unlocker2.Process ExplorerNow whenever you encounter the problem, it would present itself with this kind of dialog:I have done a shabby work of blacking out the file that was causing the problem, but don't worry, it won't be blackened out in the dialog on your computer.Next, you want to go to that file and right click on it to select unlocker. My Unlocker window reported these:Azureus (Well, that figures)DllHost (Aha! What's this?)To find out the trouble causing process we proceed to process explorer. Before we go there, let me give you a sneak preview of the culprit. It's Windows! Anyway, when I checked for the DllHost process in process explorer, it wasn't missing. But I noticed that the explorer was open with that folder. So I refreshed the view on this and then checked the process explorer again. Voila! There it was, for a fleeting moment, dllhost.exe appears, and then disappears. So that's the problem! The Thumbnails cache locks the file which is being accessed by Vuze. Now, how do we confirm it? Well, freeze the process before we can collect data about it. Here's the screenshot of the dllhost.exe process which has been suspended in process explorer.Double click on the line of the proces
to find episodes of TV shows I missed (which I promptly delete) or to download open source programs (I never use it for anything illegal of course ;). Anyway, a few weeks ago I downloaded a few torrents and started them in Azureus. I was headed out of town for about 10 days and was going to leave my computer running while gone so I could access any files I needed. With the torrents I downloaded running, my computer would have something to do for the 10 days I'd be gone. But no sooner had I walked out the door and gotten a chance to check on my computer then I started noticing some strange errors in Azureus. I was suspicious at first that it may have to do with the fact that I was downloading a whole bunch of torrents and may have run out of hard drive space on my "torrent" drive (an old 80gb drive used just for torrents). I checked the drive space and it was getting low, so I stopped a few of the torrents, deleted the files they had downloaded, and figured that would solve the problem, freeing up some space. No such luck. The next time I logged into my computer I found the same errors. There are, in fact, two separate errors that pop up and I wasn't really sure what was going on. The first error says: File close fails: D:\torrents\**************** (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process), open fails, flush fails The second error says: Disk read error - D:\torrents\******************* (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process), open fails If you look closely at the error messages, the error is on a specific part of the torrent that is being downloaded (in this case they are .avi files). I wasn't sure what the problem was, but continued to think that it may just be these particular torrents since I had never had this problem before or it may be tied to my earlier problem with the hard drive being too full. Either way, if I stopped the torrent and then started it again, the torrent would reset (Azureus would check each torrent again) and then run for a while before giving me the error again. Since I could get it to go away and each torrent would run for a few hours before running into the error, I figured
