When you boot hit the F12 key, this will take you to the boot screen, select cd/dvd, reboot and you should be booting from there. Looks disk read error like you still booting from the HDD. Mike Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top muurple Posts: 4 This post has been reported. thanks vistamike, i tried and it said the same thing though :| Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top vistamike Posts: 10945 This post has been reported. With a passion, I hate HP. I don't think your machine is booting from the dvd For the moment, forget usb Boot into the bios and tell it there to 1st boot cd/dvd. And ensure the drive is showing (please confirm this) Edit. Try cleaning the laser with a bit of isopropyl on a cotton bud. Mike Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top muurple Posts: 4 This post has been reported. how do boot into the BIOS? & im definately not getting HP next time Reports: · Posted 5 years ago Top muurple Posts: 4 This post has been reported. oh i kept tapping F2 & it did a memory scan & a hard drive scan, it said i need to replace hard drive 1... is that gonna be costly?
