I used the tutorial on creating dreamweaver mysql baÄŸlantısı dynamic dropdown menus, it help a lot. Third, if this ends up long winded I’m sorry. I prefer to explain to the best of my knowledge so I don’t waste your time. Here is where my problems begins. I want to create pages that need a login and password to access. As you know to do this the login needs to access a table in my database to gain access. This seems to be straight forward to create using the tools in dreamweaver. It requires me to set up a database link. This also seems pretty easy………except when I do this it comes up with “Mysql error 2003” I’ve done some searching on the web. It appears that my windows XP maybe blocking dreamweaver access to my server. I know I have the correct server address, user name and password since my site is using my own dbconfig for database connection and it is working. I’ve turned off the XP firewall and enabled all security setting in XP in an effort to get dreamweaver to make a database connection. I even tried making the connection to the localhost and then creating the pages, publishing them to the web, with the thinking I could just edit the code on those pages to point to the remote server. I can connect to it from another server (CentOS 6) using: mysql -h **** -u **** --port **** -p It prompts me for my password and connects just fine. The client version is "Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.6.12, for Linux (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper." However, from another server (running CentOS 7), using the same command, I get the following error after entering my password: ERROR 2000 (HY000): Unknown dreamweaver mysql error MySQL error This error is useless. There is nothing in the client machine logs that indicate the cause of the failure. However, I do know that the MySQL server is at least receiving the connect request because it logs a warning about the Reverse DNS lookup not matching. It's just a warning—not the cause of this problem—but it proves that firewalls and/or network configurations aren't blocking the connection. There is nothing else in the MySQL server log (or error log) that indicates the cause of the failure. This client version is "Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.6.23, for Linux (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper." Help??? I'm lost here. In 10+ years of MySQL admining, I've never seen this error before. Is it possible you use some other version (not 5.6.23) to check whether the error persists or not? –ypercubeᵀᴹ Feb 11 '15 at 16:30 I wouldn't know how to use another version of the client from that machine. I can tell you that the same client can connect to the local server without error. It just can't connect to the remote server. Also, the 5.6.12 client on a different machine can connect to the remote server. :-/ Is there really no way to see what the actual error is? –Nick Williams Feb 11 '15 at 16:39 Anything

I have re-installed php and mysql and reconfigured everything. I have checked the includes path thing and it is what is suggested in the tech notes, i have tried using my machine name, IP, localhost and anyother thing i could think of in the MySQL Connections window. I cant even get to the window of avaible databases to connect to without the evil *unidentified error* apeearing. You would hope it would be a little more ...
