Dungeons And Dragons Online Unspecified Patch Error
overwrite a particular file marked this way. If you still receive this message, please go to the Add/Remove Programs list located in the Control Panel and remove these items: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886903) Once removed, reboot your computer if prompted. Next, reinstall .Net 1.1 and the hotfix SP1 from these 2 links: Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Having versions of .NET Framework other than 1.1 installed on your computer may cause this error. If you find the error still comes up aftertaking the steps above,it can also be due to permissions issues with the game launcher not being allowed to either download a specific patch file or to overwrite the existing files with their patches it has already downloaded. To test for a possible block of the launcher downloading a patch file, try temporarily disabling or pausing your antivirus programs active scanner as well as your internet security applications (firewall, web filtering tools etc.) to ensure they are not preventing the launcher from connecting and downloading the patch files. You might also try running the game under a temporary clean boot of Windows per the steps here to see if another program or service running alongside the game may be contributing to the error. Special Steps for Windows Vista or 7 users: Windows Vista and Windows 7 have additional permission options for the Program Files (or "Program Files (x86)" on 64bit versions) folder and sub-folders. This can cause the launcher to be prevented from overwriting files when it is updating due to these permissions, thereby causing it to generate the patch error. If you are running the game on Vista or Win7 and receiving this error, try the following: Reboot the computer to prevent file in use based errors Click on the Windows Start button and choose Computer In there, double-click on your "C:" drive (it might disply as "Local Disk C:") In that folder, find Program Files and open it (Note: If you see "Program Files (x86)" open that one instead) Inside of that folder, look for the one named Turbine and open it LOTRO players should now open "The Lord of the Rings Online", whereas DDO players should open "Dungeons & Dragons Online" (it might be listed as "DDO Unlimited") Once you are inside of this folder, you want to look for a file named TurbineRegisterGDF and when you find it right-click and choose Run as Administrator from the menu. All that should happen when you do this is the Windows wait cursor will come up for a brief time and then revert back to normal. Once it has done so,

It does great up until it hits "Examine game data". Then it gives me the error "Unspecified Patch http://support.turbine.com/link/portal/24001/24047/Article/5154/-Unspecified-Patch-Error Error". I've tried running it with my antivirus/firefall disabled. I've tried running it in administrator mode. Each time, it does the same thing. I can't post on the game forums because I don't have an active subscription. Help? I'm in the process of reinstalling with Avast disabled (even though Avast is supposed to ignore my entire Common folder to avoid problems like this). I'll report back if I'm successful, but I'm not holding my breath I would post on the official forum, but apparently you have to be an active subscriber (or so the invalid login error keeps telling me) Sidenote: I've tried everything else on their support article, and even tried running in safe mode as a last resort. Nothing worked. Edit: Huh. Redownloading with Antivirus disabled actually worked. Note: I also verified file integrity before running, and it found one invalid file that it fixed, but
