It does great up until it hits "Examine game data". Then it gives me the error "Unspecified Patch Error". I've tried running it with my antivirus/firefall disabled. I've tried running it in administrator mode. Each time, it does the same thing. I can't post on the game forums because I don't have an active subscription. I'm in the process of reinstalling with Avast disabled (even though Avast is supposed to ignore my entire Common folder to avoid problems like this). I'll report back if I'm successful, but I'm not holding my breath I would post on the official forum, but apparently you have to be an active subscriber (or so the invalid login error keeps telling me) Sidenote: I've tried everything else on their support article, and even tried running in safe mode as a last resort. Nothing worked. Edit: Huh. Redownloading with Antivirus disabled actually worked. Note: I also verified file integrity before running, and it found one invalid file that it fixed, but it's now past examining game data, and is updating/patching. Try Verifying game files first (Right click -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify integrity of game cache), and if that doesn't work, you might have to redownload with antivirus temporarily off. Not the best idea if you don't have other security in place. What I did to redownload was move the DDO folder from common to my desktop temporarily, started steam, let it see that the files weren't there anymore, closed, replaced the folder back into the common folder, restarted steam. The download started at 75%. My client is now fully up to date, and I'm about to log in. Last edited by CelticAngel: 07-30-2012 at

I did some searching and found some help resources. I followed all Windows 7 instructions from here: http://support.turbine.com/link/port...ed-Patch-Error I also tried the steps outlined here: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...ed-Patch-Error Finally, I re-downloaded the high-res install files from Turbine (assuming, incorrectly that they would already have RoR included!). Then I uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed. Still no joy! I use an Administrator-level account, so no elevation is required. I had my AntiVirus off (as is UAC) and I made sure all the apps were allowed through the firewall. (I then tried with Firewall off, just in case). Still nothing!
