or my favorite, the E74 error, there always seems to be something wrong with Microsoft's Xbox 360. With the recent release of the Xbox One, hopefully the days of Red Rings, and DVD scratching disc drives is a thing of the past. However, if you're like me and want to hold on spending $600 for a next gen console, there is still hope in being able to repair and use your Xbox 360. That's why I came up with an easy fix that I've explained in simple terms in order to fix the E74 Error on your Microsoft Xbox 360 console. Below is a simple E74 Error Fix Video that anyone can use to fix their Xbox 360 with just some simple tools https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycihQXLA6RE and you're own two hands. (Click here for a video on how to open up your Xbox 360 safely) As you can see, this is a quick an easy fix to the Xbox 360 E74 Error. It doesn't require removal of any heat sinks or x-clamps. What you will need: -E74 Error -Brain -Broken Xbox 360 -Hands -Blow/Hairdryer or Heat Gun If you're having trouble getting it to work initially, try to repeat the process a few times. The Xbox 360 will get RIDICULOUSLY hot. http://xbox360repairdiy.blogspot.com/2013/12/xbox-360-e74-error-easy-fix-diy.html BE CAREFUL. Once it's working, try to keep the Xbox 360 on for a full day, but not overnight as this could pose a fire hazard. If you're still having problems getting it to work after all these steps, your Xbox 360 may need to be sent in for repairs. In this case, I would highly recommend posting your broken Xbox 360 with the E74 error on Ebay for $0.99 (yes, 99 cents), and letting people bid away at it that want it for parts or for repair to resell. I have had 2 broken Xbox 360's that I could not fix and they sold for $40-$60 on eBay in 5-7 days time. It's not optimal, but with lowering Xbox 360 prices and the next gen consoles being released, it makes sense to cut your losses and recoup whatever you can instead of having your gaming console collecting dust. Remember, electronics lose value every day. So unless you're a collector, fix it or get rid of it! Whats it meant for?? TO DRY YOUR HAIR! If it was 400 degrees your hair would get all kinds of screwed up... Point is, a hairdryer does not get hot enough to even get NEAR a reflow. An oven is also a bad idea, but its better than a hairdryer!!! Just happened to mine yesterday...oh, and if your 360 is older than a year it'll cost you a cool £60 for MS to fix it...unless you lie or rip a shop off which is probably what I'm going to do, dodgy, I know, but ach well. welshben1982 29 Mar 2008 20:07:05 1,171 posts Seen 9 hours ago Registered 11 years ago Lexx87 wrote: Google one red light? Sorry I'm so thick but what's a scaler? I've got insurance for the thing, will I still have to pay £60?
