For the larger emails containing attachments usually the only answer is logging into webmail and disposing of it in a suitable fashion. There are several threads on this.You could also try increasing the Server Timeout value in the Advanced section of your Account Properties in Windows Mail. They are normally happy to allow you to receive emails. The exceptions to this are email providers like Yahoo and Hotmail that allow serving and receiving while you are attached to any ISP.
