M. is online now My printer is Dell Photo 928. I have purchased from Dell ink Resolved Question: My printer is Dell Photo 928. I have purchased from Dell ink cartridges - black and colour. Order No XXXXXXXXX They arrived. I inserted the black cartridge and error 1102 appeared. Also error 1103 , although I have not so far changed the colour cartridge. Category:Printers Share this conversation Expert: Freddy M. replied6 years ago. 1102 and 1103 are unsupported cartridge errors.Please try the old cartridge and see if you get the same problemIf you don't then the new cartridge is defective and should be returned and exchanged for anotherIf it does give you the same problem please try the followingRemove all the ink cartridges from the machineThen clean the contacts on the cartridges as well as inside the machine itselfDo this with a small amount of warm water on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swabIf any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging replace themThen turn off the machine and unplug it for 70 secondsPlug it back it and wait for the insert cartridges messageInsert the cartridges and check to see if the problem is still thereIf it is it means the print head has failedIn order to fix this the print head inside the printer needs to be replacedThe print head is the part of the printer that puts ink from the cartridges onto the pageUnfortunately this can sometimes cost more to replace then the machine itselfThe print head has seperate nozzles for each cartridge so it can print black for example and the color print blank even if the print head has failed.It also works the same way with the detection of the cartridges. --------------
