See error log below. Not only did the update fail, but it corrupted my current version and reader would not load https://forums.adobe.com/thread/681640 due to main dll problem. I had to remove the reader and install version 8, the only other option on the Adobe downloads.By the way, the solution in this article below does not work for Windows 7, but possibly could if someone would update the procedure.http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403915.html[2010-07-14 12:28:21] Adobe ARM 1.4.5.0 logging started.[2010-07-14 12:28:21] Command Line: /PRODUCT:Reader /VERSION:9.0 /MODE:2[2010-07-14 12:28:21] ProductCode: {AC76BA86-7AD7-FFFF-7B44-A91000000001}[2010-07-14 12:28:21] ProductName: Adobe Reader 9.3 MUI[2010-07-14 12:28:21] ProductVersion: 9.3.0[2010-07-14 12:28:21] ProductRegistry: SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\9.0[2010-07-14 12:28:21] ProductInstallDir: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\[2010-07-14 12:28:21] Found CommandLine preference AUTO_DOWNLOAD.[2010-07-14 12:28:55] ArmUpdate record found.[2010-07-14 12:28:55] Newer version ARM Update is not available.[2010-07-14 12:28:55] New file object: AdbeRdrUpd932_all_incr.msp[2010-07-14 12:28:55] New file object: AdbeRdrUpd933_all_incr.msp[2010-07-15 05:29:40] InstallProductMsp...[2010-07-15 05:29:40] file - C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Reader\9.3\ARM\AdbeRdrUpd932_all_incr.msp;C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Reade r\9.3\ARM\AdbeRdrUpd933_all_incr.msp[2010-07-15 05:29:40] args - [2010-07-15 05:30:04] Error 1321.The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\ACE.dll.[2010-07-15 05:30:04] ** Setting Error Condition: [2010-07-15 05:30:04] Error Code: 1500[2010-07-15 05:30:07] Installation error code: [2010-07-15 05:30:07] Error Code: 1603[2010-07-15 05:30:07] Error Code: 1603 I have the

It also covers a range of topics including group policy, anti-virus, and Spiceworks to name a few. How to uninstall Mcafee anti-virus and install ESET NOD32 using group policy. This is a long post so please forgive me but I figured the information may help someone else. I created a GPO that ran a script during computer startup to remove Mcafee. I found the instructions on How to remove VirusScan Enterprise via the command line using msiexec.exe on the Mcafee Knowledgebase here so I created a batch file that ran the command during computer startup. I created a second GPO to install ESET on user login. I did this by assigning the application to all users in the user configuration - software settings - software installation settings. I used this method instead of using the ESET Remote Administrator to push the software to the clients because that only works if the computers are on. Now I could have sent a wakeup packet to all the computers on the network and pushed the install but I like to automate things and that seemed like too much intervention on my part. I would have had to monitor when each computer was on and then push the install. I created installer packages and tried to push them out to the clients via logon script but I was having issues getting the installer to run on the clients. I did some tests deploying ESET with group policy but one of the main problems I was having was that the clients would not update the database because it was prompting for a username and password. They were also not reporting to the RA console so I couldn’t push any config information out to them. I got around this by RTFM which explained that if you put the config file in the same directory as the .msi install package it would automatically use those settings. So in theory this is what would happen. The computer would boot and the Mcafee GPO would uninstall Mcafee during computer startup before the ctrl-alt-del login. The user would then login and ESET would be installed. This actually seemed to work pretty well and I was able to uninstall Mcafee and install ESET without a big lapse in anti-vir
