another Task Sequence (on a Lenovo M90P) and http://www.networksteve.com/enterprise/topic.php/Can't_get_machine_to_join_the_domain_/_error_1355/?TopicId=59421&Posts=5 have the machine join the domain and cant get it to work. I always end up with the following in the Task Sequence event log : https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/5154/hostnamechanger-not-joining-domain-error-1355 ==============================[ OSDNetSettings.exe ]=========================== Command line: "osdnetsettings.exe" configure Setting %SystemRoot% to "C:\Windows" Loading existing answer file "C:\Windows\panther\unattend\unattend.xml" Configuring global network settings Join type: 0 Joining domain: error 1355 XXXXX Getting namespace "Microsoft-Windows-UnattendedJoin" for architecture "x86" DNS domain: DNS domain search order: IP filter sec enabled: false No adapters found in environment. Concerning the No Adapters error 1355 a found in environment, I suspected a problem with the NIC driver so I checked the network settings using F8 and when the join domain command runs, I confirmed that I have an IP address on my network and can ping the DC. Even when the PC boots up at the end (but not on the domain) the network drivers are present and working so I dont think it is a NIC driver issue I also reapplied the NIC driver and added a reboot before adding the computer to the domain, just in case, with no luck I confirmed the account has the rights to add a computer to the domain. Also tried different OU, no OU (so it would go in Computers), still not working. I also checked the following log file and here is what I have C:\Windows\panther\unattendGC\setupact.LOG Error [DJOIN.EXE] Unattended Join: NetJoinDomain failed error code is [1355] Error [DJOIN.EXE] Unatte

Hostnamechanger not joining domain. Error 1355. This topic has been deleted. Only users with topic management privileges can see it. Scott Adams last edited by Wayne Workman We have created several images, and they download fine. Hostnamechanger does reboot system and rename the computer to the appropriate name. However, joining the domain is a different issue. Let me go into a little more detail. We have multiple sites that are subnetted out. Each scope has the 66 and 67 options set. That is not the issue. At all of our remote sites, the computer will not join the domain. The fog.log gives the error 1355 when it tries to join. However, if we use the same image on the same local subnet as the FOG server, computers join the domain fine. Same options are set here, there is no difference in the DHCP setup. At the remote sites, we can manually join the domain, we can even use the netdom command no problem. Any thoughts? I am going to have to set FOG up at our central location for something like 27 buildings soon… glad to know what to use now! At the moment, I’m sort of the lone ranger using FOG in just one building, and everyone is envious of my 4 minute image deployment time, with auto naming and auto joining to domain… and web functionality. And, the people at Acronis screwed up when my manager called them up with a list of basic questions about their network solution… and nobody he got on the phone with could give direct answers… so they missed out on something like a $50,000 sale lol. My manager wants to move forward with FOG now. :-) Was my post helpful? We were able to join a computer to the domain from a different subnet. Thanks Wayne for your help! Not sure why FOG client is not using our DNS entries, but it worked. Reply Quote 1 Scott Adams last edited by I will give that a try and then reply back when complete. Thanks Wayne! I’m crossing my fingers. Reply Quote 0 Wayne Workman Moderator last edited by Could you try the FQDN in the FOG Active Directory Defaults… just to see what happens? After setting that, you’ll need to “update” those settings on a test host. You’d unche
