Solution Suite 2.0 clone failure Ghost Solution Suite 2.0 clone failure Posted in the Symantec Forum Leave a Comment Track Replies Comments 1 - 8 of 8 Comments Last updated Jun 23, 2011 IT supporter Jordanstown, UK #1 Mar 26, 2007 http://www.topix.com/forum/com/symantec/TKGU860DHU0HEM1I2 Trying to use Ghost Solution Suite 2.0 to clone a Windows XP pc. Have successfully uploaded https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/ghost-boot-wizard-not-so-smart.683374/ an image, and cloned a pc, but when I tried to do it again, the ghost program bombed out with the error message:-general protection fault in rmcb at eip4pe5f; flags 3016 ...Has anyone had this? any ideas?(the same set up works with the earlier version of Ghost)Many thanks Reply » Report Abuse Judge it! David Alvarado O San José, Costa Rica #2 Mar error 19913 27, 2007 Hello,I have a rare problem, I am trying to backup a Fedora PC, I am using ghost solution suite v2.0, I made the boot wizard to greate a network boot package with a static IP, I don´t have any DHCP server in my company. when the graphic interface turns on and when I go to multicats option y recived the error 19913 (Application error 19913 - Cannot find DHCP server), somebody knows what is happening? Reply » Report error 19913 dhcp Abuse Judge it! Schul-Support-Se rvice Hamburg, Germany #3 May 3, 2007 We have the same problem. The problem occurs mainly with gigabit cards and only if there is no DHCP-server present. It does not matter whether we work with a bootcd created from networkbootdisk or with a ghost bootdisk with the newest driver (RTL 8169 - Gigabit). If you use a static IP it is impossible to use the network options, no matter if you try peer to peer or multicasting. If you use a static IP adress AND have DHCP running, the static IP is replaced by one from the DHCP server as soon as you choose multicast or other network dependent clone methods.Only solution so far - Use a dhcp server. We are thinking about buying a few thousand licenses for the schools in Hamburg, but with this bug we may rethink this. There are far too many schools were it is just too much of an effort to put up a dhcp server. Using static IP adresses should work (also with gigabit cards). The Ghost Boot Wizard does make a boot disk that will boot and even bind to the network. However, Ghost crashes with a "Application Error 19913, unable to start TCP/IP - Can't find DHCP server" when clicking on "Multicasting" or "TCP/IP". It appears that the Boot Wizard is not creating a file called WATTCP.CFG on the boot disk. I think this file is necessary to establish the TCP/IP connection and belongs in the root directory. The best I can determine is that two line items are needed in WATTCP.CFG; IP= , and MCTTL=2. IP= is left without an argument because the Linksys Router is using DHCP. I have tried to manually create this file but my manual creations do not seem to solve the problem. One other question I am not sure of yet. Is it necessary to start the computer to which the image is being saved with the Boot Disk also or can it simply be running in Windows XP? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Linksys refers me to Symantec and Symantec Technical support is all but impossible to contact. #1 barryng, Dec 24, 2001 macssuck Senior member Joined: Mar 27, 2000 Messages: 506 Likes Received: 0 I'm not sure about the boot disk part but when I go to work I will check but you do have the linksys providing DHCP correct? Also you do not have to start the "server" machine with the boot disk you just run Multicast server within XP but there is an option when making the boot disk to put the dos multicast server on the boot floppy if you ever need it. #2 macssuck, Dec 24, 2001 (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
