It suppresses that "RunCommand action was canceled" message as I think you wish. Since your form's code apparently calls DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord from multiple locations, replace each of those calls with SaveRecord as I did in cmdSave_Click(). DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acFile, acSave, , acMenuVer70 Neither of these last commands seems to do what I could do in ver2. When I hit the save icon on the toolbar I get the desired result. Can someone direct me to what DoMenuItem command I should use, so the users have their forms automatically saved to the position it had when they closed the form. Solution Access 97 seems to have changed when the position of the form is saved. Place the following code in the On_Resize event. Guest When a user is inputing a hyperlink into a text box on my form I have the Insert Hyperlink dialog box pop up automatically with an On Click Event Procedure in my text box with the following http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/the-runcommand-action-was-cancelled-run-time-error-2501.1155234/ code... Private Sub Resistance_Click() RunCommand acCmdInsertHyperlink End Sub If you enter a hyperlink and press OK it works fine. However if you click the Cancel button instead of entering a hyperlink the debug error "The RunCommand action https://www.tutcity.com/access/prevent-the-runcommand-action-was-canceled-message.69238.html was cancelled(Run-time error '2501')" appears. Is there a work around to this??? Is there a > work around to this??? > > Thanks David Sure. Error 2501 is raised any time you initiate an action using VBA code, and that action is subsequently cancelled. As a rule, you don't really care about this, so you can set up error-handling in your code to ignore that particular error: Private Sub Resistance_Click() On Error GoTo Error_Handler RunCommand acCmdInsertHyperlink Exit_Point: Exit Sub Error_Handler: If Err.Number <> 2501 Then MsgBox Err.Description, _ vbExclamation, "Error " & Err.Number End If Resume Exit_Point End Sub -- Dirk Goldgar, MS Access MVP www.datagnostics.com (please reply to the newsgroup) Dirk Goldgar, Sep 13, 2004 #2 Advertisements Show Ignored Content Want to reply to this thread or ask your own question?
