The system is not understress in terms of CPU use, hard drive access or anything similar. The problem is evident on anything from playing back a http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1011265 CD in the drive towatching something on Youtube. I'm listening through headphones, so thisisn't the problem with the optical output on this motherboard that has beenreported in various places.Has anyone encountered problems with a similar hardware combination? It's apopular mobo+processor combination with numerous reports of successfuloverclocking on the web, so I find it hard to believe this is a generalproblem, but maybe there's some http://uk.comp.homebuilt.narkive.com/qCl4KECQ/tips-for-diagnosing-sound-lag-problem conflict that's not obvious with one of theother bits of hardware and immature drivers or something.Does anyone have any useful diagnostic suggestions, beyond the usualupdating all the drivers, etc? Thanks in advance,Chris Conor 2008-02-02 18:33:15 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Post by ChrisHi all,I've had some problems with a new PC, where the sound plays OK most of thetime but lags badly every few seconds. The machine is based on a Q6600 (G0 stepping) and Gigabyte X38-DQ6motherboard, moderately overclocked.
