Software Installation Problem Internal Error 2738
Win 7 RC1 x64 (all updates), but I always get an "internal error 2738". I tried several compatibility settings (Vista, XP SP2, error 2738 vbscript windows 7 Vista SP1) with no luck. I found some hints to register VBScript.DLL ( regsvr32 VBScript.DLL in system32 with admin privileges) but this doesn't help. Any further suggestions? Windows 7 x64 - Gigabyte EP-45-DS3 (Intel P45

It installed ok on one machine, but continously fails with 'Internal error 2738' on another machine; both were upgraded from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 32-bit. The proposed solution (elsewhere) about registering vbscript.dll does not work for me. Vista for some reason dosnt register VBScript. What you have to do is first of all find where vbscript.dll is, mine was in C:\Windows\System32, but I think it changes dependant on your version. Next you need to go to start -> accessories and the right click on command prompt and click "run as administrator", next type "cd C:\Windows\System32" (replace the dir if its differnt for you) and then type "regsvr32 vbscript.dll". It should internal error 2738 then confirm that vbscript has been registered and everything should work. This will fix a few installs, i found the same problem with itunes as well.
