and music over. any ideas anyone? iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8) Posted on Nov 12, 2015 2:13 AM I have this question too Close Q: ipad pro and itunes error All replies Helpful answers by https://discussions.apple.com/article/TS1539 Demo, Demo Nov 12, 2015 3:22 AM in response to barbarafromhants Level 10 (95,908 points) iPad Nov 12, 2015 3:22 AM in response to barbarafromhants You are using the most recent version of iTunes for OS X 10.6.8, but the message that you are getting means that you need the absolute newest version of iTunes 12.3.1 in order to sync the iPad Pro. Unfortunately, Apple didn't really specify this https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7334273?start=0&tstart=0 in their hype about iOS 9 or the new iPhones and iPad Pro.In order to run the latest version of iTunes you need to be running 10.8.5. If you still have the old iPad, backup with iCloud and then restore that backup. You will not be able to sync photos or music ripped from CD's, but it's better than not being able to restore any backup at all. There are third party apps that will let you move photos back and forth and I'm sure there are apps that will move the music as well. Updated on June 8, 2016 by SK This is not a very common error, but we have seen few users requesting input on it. This problem can impact both iPhone and iPad users. Many people have reported this issue after updating to the new iOS version on their devices. It happens when you try to connect your iPad or iPhone to a computer with iTunes installed. While attempting to sync using the software on your laptop or PC, and then this annoying message come up.“iPhone 6s cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes” Or “iPad cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes.” Interestingly, the most irritating part of this problem is that your computer is using the latest version of iTunes. Here are a few steps to take in order to get rid of this issue. How to get Rid of iTunes asking for Newer VersionStep 1: Please check the version of OS X that you are currently running. Although the message suggests you to upgrade your iTunes, nine of out of ten times we found that users encounter this error because their OS X versions are not updated on their Mac or Macbook. Check the version of OS X by clicking on the Apple menu > About this Mac. Step 2: Upgrade your Mac’s version of OS X to the latest version applicable for your machine. This can be done by going to the App Store > Click on Updates on the toolbar and then install the updates. Please note that there were problematic experiences for folks that had older Macbook and were trying to install the latest OS X updates. Please see this link that shows the specifications of Macs that can use the latest OS X update.Step 3: Make sure that you are in fact running the latest iTunes that is available for your machine. Please check Apple’s iTunes site for the latest version out there. This link pr
