Reply Contact It doesn't seem likely that SP1 would have caused this unless there was problems during the installation. Please check your system logs to see if there were any problems with the installation. You might try reapplying SP1. Install hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2516485 ( you may already have this hotfix in your farm) on all WFEs. This is necessary so that the “userName()” function in InfoPath will return a result in domain\username format, instead of just username. In SharePoint Central Administration, create a new “Group” Secure Store App, assign “All Authenticated Users” as the membership condition, and set the credentials to a user with permissions to access user information for all site users (i.e. a site admin). In the UDCX file for the data connection calling the “GetUserProfileByName” web service method, add the Secure Store App information and reapprove: udc:Authentication> udc:SSO AppId="GetUserProfileByNameSSA" CredentialType="NTLM" /> /udc:Authentication> In the form template, in design mode, modify the

5566 in Info Path form while accessing webservice Posted by Manisha 7 Quite often, I have observed "401 - Unauthorized error" when I access any web service(GetRunningWorkflowTasksForCurrentUserForListItem, GetUserProfilebyName - I have tried with these 2 services) https://askmanisha.wordpress.com/2013/08/05/unauthorized-error-401-in-info-path-form-while-accessing-web-service/ from my Info Path form.  My form used a web service "GetRunningWorkflowTasksForCurrentUserForListItem" to get https://suehernandez.wordpress.com/2013/10/11/sharepoint-2013-infopath-claims-getuserprofilebyname/ information such as task id assigned to the current user. The form was working like a charm in my development machine. But the moment it was moved to the acceptance environment, gone it was… I can tell you I had access to this SharePoint web service. I could access the direct URL (i.e. http://SiteCollectionURL/_vti_bin/NintexWorkflow/Workflow.asmx or error 5566  http://SiteCollectionURL/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx) in the browser. So why unauthorized?? Also, the error did not have any obvious pattern. Adding to my woes, it was irregular too… This was driving me nuts…Ugh Nevertheless, analysis led me to know that my Acceptance environment has two Web Front End Servers(WFEs), one App Server and a load balancer (the cause of my troubles here). (Unlike, my development server had one WFE and one App Server, no an error occurred load balancer.) How it all works here So, when I load the form, my load balancer calls one of the 2 WFEs and opens up the form. However, when the web service call is made, the request is passed through the load balancer again, to one of the 2 WFEs. This is hopping twice and is known as double hop or alternate hop. The point here was my credentials were not following an action on the 2nd hop. In this case, the first hop was from my machine to the ServerA to open the form and the 2nd hop was from ServerA through the Load Balancer to ServerB to call the web service. So my credentials were following the first server action. However, my credentials were not following the 2nd action: the web service call. Therefore, the web service call was Unauthorized and error-ed out. Some advice from the colleagues and i got my solution… Thank God!! The solution was to force all actions (for an instance the form is opened) to happen from one server only. In other words, if ServerA opens the Info Path form, force other actions (say …calling the web service) to also run on ServerA. This can be don

if you're using Claims-based authentication, which I believe is the default in SharePoint 2013. The Scenario: You have an on-premise SharePoint 2013 Server installation with InfoPath Forms Services (so you have enterprise) and you want to create an InfoPath form that auto-populates a logged in user's ID, email, and phone number.  You are using Claims-based authentication in the web application in question. In this scenario, I'm using InfoPath Designer 2010 - I haven't upgraded to 2013 yet, but I don't think it makes a difference. The Problem: When you use Claims-based authentication, your user name is prefaced by "0#.w|".  So for example, if your user name is SuesDomain\jdoe then your Claims-based user token will be, without the quotes:     "0#.w|SuesDomain\jdoe" InfoPath can't handle that, or more specifically, the UserProfile.asmx method GetUserProfileByName method can't handle that.  InfoPath tries to pass in your Claims-based user token instead of your domain\User Name. You get 2 problems - you have an authentication problem where the currently logged in user is not allowed to hit the web service, so you get an Access Denied 401 authentication error.  The second problem is getting the right user from the web service. The Solution: The steps you have to take are listed here.  See the reference posts for more details and pictures. Have your Active Directory team create you a User Name and Password for a "generic" InfoPath Account.  The one I created was called Domain\SP2013_IPRdr for "InfoPath Reader". Have the Central Administration team create a Secure Store service application, if they don't already have one. Generate the Secure Store key if you haven't already. Create a new application in the Secure Store called something like InfoPathGUPBN ("GetUserProfileByName" is what the acronym stands for); target application type is Group, and User Field Types are the Windows User Name and Password. Set the credentials:  Whomever you want to administer the application should be set as the Target Application Administrators and for the Members, select All Users. Set the Credentia
