reloaded with System 7. When I plug in my broadband USB modem (760). the drivers are loaded and the verizon manager gets installed. when I try to connect, however, I get the error 633 device is in use or not configured properly. I have reloaded the drivers and got the most recent verizon manager error 633 modem huawei with the same result. I have used the device manager to look at the devices to see if there is some conflict identified, but no such thing. How do I get rid of the 633 message and allow usage of the broadband modem? 7250Views Tags: none (add) modem_infoContent tagged with modem_info This content has been marked as final. It turned out that the old drivers from a verizon card were loading for the novatel that was on a different carrier. Have you installed a different wireless broadband card in the past? Anyway, if you uninstall the driver for the card you have now, reboot, plug your card back into the computer and it installs without you having to install the drivers from the disc, then it is installing a previous driver. I've tried everything I can think of and researched til I'm blue in the face. This is a laptop with XP home (was SP3, but I reverted it back to SP2) and Verizon Wireless (USB Modem) and VZAccess Manager. This is my Mom's laptop and she discovered that error 633 modem the Verizon Wireless stopped connecting and brought the computer to me. It would just stick on initializing or it would say the com was already in use. I later discovered that the dial-up modem has the same problem. I do NOT think it is the problem with either the USB modem or the dial-up modem since they are both having the same problem. I believe it is part of Windows that is damaged or something that is causing this. Any ideas???? I'm stumped! Thanks for any help!
