I am working with this modem without any problem on my system.but it is not working on my laptop which has xp sp3. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/279658 and same copy of os on another system, there also it is not workng. it giving error as Error 633: The modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or not configured properly.I try uninstall and reinstalling the drinver. no use. but working without any problem on my another system which has deff os.There is GOD where there is true smile for someone... It turned out that the old drivers from a verizon card were loading for the novatel that was on a different carrier. Have you installed a different wireless broadband card in the past? Anyway, if you uninstall the driver for the card you have now, reboot, plug your card back into the computer and it installs without you having to install the drivers from the disc, then it is installing a previous driver. You need to find that driver and delete it. With the card installed on your computer, you need to go to the device manager, right click on your card, go to properties, click on the driver tab, then click on driver details. This will give you a list of files you need to delete. Report • #2 google_DJ March 27, 2012 at 01:03:59 I found the Solution here that,I just remind the OS installation process, while installing it was given MODEMUI.DLL missing, I use to press Enter to skip that coz I use Wired connection, Than I come to know that This Missing DLL file making me problem. so I copy and paste the file from other running XP os, that paste in system32 folder.. guess what.. its working fine... cheers..thanks for help..There is GOD where there is true smile for someone... My mother in law has a problem with the dial up connection in Windows XP. The connection was working with no problems until one day when she tried to connect and received 'Error 633: The modem is already in use' etc. etc. She hadn't installed anything new on the PC and no hardware changes were made. I have tried looking at any running processes to see if another application is using the COM3 port but there is nothing out of the ordinary. I have physically removed the modem and installed it into another PCI slot but, again, it made no difference. Could it be the modem that is broken or could there be a rougue piece of software that is using COM3? I have run a full viru
