Error 720 Ls Do Odbc Could Not Complete Requested Operation
when running LSXODBC agent lei; LSXODBC; agent; HTTP; errors; error; Error 720; could not complete the requested operation; Error in ODBC Connection; odbc; Error in ODBC; ResultSet Technote (troubleshooting) Problem In Lotus Enterprise Integrator (LEI), when running a LSXODBC agent over HTTP, you receive one of the following errors intermittently: "Error 720- LS:DO- ODBC could not complete the requested operation. Error in ODBC Connection." or "Error in ODBC ResultSet: LS:DO- ODBC could not complete the requested operation." Cause This situation occurs when the LSXODBC agent contains a disconnect to the datasource which is not preceded by a "close" of the ResultSet class. Resolving the problem The Disconnect method is part of the ODBCConnection Class and the Close Method is part of the ODBCResutSet Class. A "Disconnect" severs you from the datasource while a "Close" terminates the ResultSet. To correct this issue, you should always close the ResultSet before disconnecting the datasource. Replace the end text, "con.disconnect", as follows: result.Close(DB-Close) con.disconnect Document information More support for: IBM Enterprise Integrator for Domino ODBC Software version: 7.0, 8.0, 8.5 Operating system(s): AIX, IBM i, Linux, Solaris, Windows Reference #: 1515245 Modified date: 2013-10-12 Site availability Site assistance Contact and feedback Need support? could not complete the requested operation" Error 720; LS:DO; lotusscript; "Error 720: ls:do-odbc could not complete the requested operation" Technote (FAQ) Question When you pull data from a DB400 database using an LS:DO agent, the following error occurs after a certain http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21515245 amount of records are processed: "Error 720: ls:do-odbc could not complete the requested operation." Cause When you use an SQL statement to reference a string, you have to list the string in quotation marks. Some of the records in the http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21279884 DB400 data contained fields with names that were already in quotation marks. When the agent reached these records, it did not know how to process the extra quotations marks and would fail. Answer In this particular case, the developer altered the agent code to allow for the quotes in the DB400 database. After doing so, the agent was able to process the entire DB400 database without error.
