Go into Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings 2. Right click on Incoming Connection 3. Click on the Networking https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-XP-and-Vista-discussion/Error-720-Dial-Up-Networking-could-not-negotiate-a-compatible/td-p/15304 tab and double click on the ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)' checkbox4. Click the ‘Specify IP addresses' and type an IP range that is in line with your current router setup (e.g. if your LAN is on a 192.168.11.x network, then you might want to set it as follows):You should now find, like me, that the VPN works once http://www.paulkiddie.com/2011/06/a-fix-for-error-720-a-connection-to-the-remote-computer-could-not-be-established-when-trying-to-connect-to-a-windows-7-vpn/ more! to write this manual so that you can understand what to do. Guess I found a way to fix that 720 error in Windows 8 (also works in http://en.remontka.pro/error-720-windows-8-and-8-1-solved/ Win 8.1). Hope it will help you. So, the error shows itself when https://help.my-private-network.co.uk/support/solutions/articles/8467-error-720 you try to establish some kind of Internet connection — PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, etc. Sure, you have already searched for the right way to fix the error and definetely tried the commands: netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log And they didn't work, saying the access is denied. So, error 720 here are the steps you may follow to reset TCP/IP protocol in windows 8 and fix the 720 error: Download Process Explorer from Windows Sysinternals website: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us//sysinternals/bb896645.aspx Unzip and run it. Uncheck all operations, but the windows registry ones. Add two Filters from the Filter menu in Process Explorer. The First one should include process named netsh.exe, and the second — the result "ACCESS DENIED" (I used error 720 windows capital letters, not sure if it is necessary) Press Windows + X buttons on your keyboard and run Command Line as Administrator. Run the netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log command. It will not be able to complete all the necessary actions to reset the IPv4 protocol, but you will see a line in process explorer, telling you which parameter in windows registry failed to change. Press Windows + R buttons, type regedit to run registry editor. Navigate to the registry key from process monitor, click it with the right mouse button and select "Permissions". Set it to "Full Access", then click Ok. Repeat that netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log command. It will now work well. Repeat steps 5-7 with netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log command. Run netsh winsock reset command in coomand line. Restart your computer That's it, the error 720 shouldn't appear any more.
