error constantly with some of our users who used Verizon Access Manager, and ANY error 720 a connection to the remote computer windows 7 type of Air Card; PC5750, PC5740, PC5220, tethering with Blackberries, etc. Using the VZAM software, or US Cellular sometimes you purevpn error 720 will not get an error, sometimes you will. The best way to test what error you are getting is to insert your air card, and use the Dial Up connection that is created by https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-XP-and-Vista-discussion/Error-720-Dial-Up-Networking-could-not-negotiate-a-compatible/td-p/15304 the software to attempt to connect (in Networks Connections). You will always get some sort of error. So far I have not seen this on Windows 7, only on Windows XP PRO SP2, or SP3, so I will write this up assuming you have Windows XP. CAUSE: This issue may occur if the TCP/IP protocol has become unbound from the dial-up adapter, or if a conflict is http://vivithemage.com/2010/07/15/verizon-access-manager-error-720-cannot-connect-to-serverremote-server/ created when a second WAN Miniport IP device driver loads. Back to the top Back to the top RESOLUTION: To resolve this issue, uninstall the WAN Miniport IP and PPTP devices. To do so, follow these steps: To be safe, uninstall the CISCO VPN (if you use it). If no WAN Miniport IP devices are listed, go directly to step 16. 4. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. 5. Locate the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} 6. On the Registry menu, click Export Registry File, type backup-key in the File name box, and then click Save. (Note You can restore the changes that you make to this registry key. To do so, double-click the backup-key.reg file that you saved.) 7. Click each of the registry subkeys under this key, and then view the Data column of the DriverDesc value to determine which of th

I'm using windows 8 and standard ptpp VPN. Every VPN I have created though results in the same error: Error 720: A connection to the remote computer could not be established You might need to change the network settings for this connection The VPN works in Windows 7 and XP. I'm not sure if this has something to do with my new laptop or if its something with error 720 a Windows 8 itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if there is any extra info I can provide please let me know. And may be more suitable for SuperUser anyhow... doesn't seem like it's a professional admin problem, at least as described. –HopelessN00b Dec 29 '12 at 0:40 thanks HopelssN00b, I'm not sure what info to provide that will be most helpful, if you let me know what info you need I can try and provide it. I'm happy to move to super user if that will be more appropriate. –campo Dec 29 '12 at 1:13 I don't know either, but look at what you have provided us - basically that a bunch of your PTPP VPNs throw a 720 error when you use Windows 8. Uh, alright, but that doesn't have any information that's going to be much good for troubleshooting. –HopelessN00b Dec 29 '12 at 1:22 add a comment| 8 Answers 8 active old
