I'm on a wxpython python 3 Snow Leopard Mac using Python 2.6 and downloaded the corresponding wxPython version. I've started by typing a very basic wxPython app, but I'm getting the following error: ImportError: No module named wx The code is the following: import wx class Application(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, parent, id): wx.Frame.__init__(self, parent, id, 'Hello World', size = (300, 200)) if __name__=='__main__': app = wx.PySimpelApp() frame = Application(parent = None, id = 1) frame.Show() app.MainLoop() Am I using

a wrong version of Python, is it a 32/64-bit situation bug? If so, how do I solve it? EDIT: Forced python to run at 32-bit, the issue sustains. python wxpython share|improve this question edited May 11 '13 at 19:34 Zero Piraeus 17.4k125899 asked May 7 '11 at 19:57 Jaliborc 188315 Mac OSX comes with wxpython, but you have to use the 32-bit Python binary to use it. –Rafe Kettler May 7 '11 at 20:02 Do I have to specify that on the python file, or do I have to install pyhton again? –Jaliborc May 7 '11 at 23:37 @Jailborc there's an option you can set. I've made an answer. –Rafe Kettler May 8 '11 at 0:29 How did you install it? –Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams May 8 '11 at 13:45 Went to "wxpython.org/download.php" and choose "wxPython2.8-osx-unicode-py2.6". Mounted the disk image and ran the installer. –Jaliborc May 8 '11 at 14:12 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote You can't use wxPython in 64-bit mode. First, force Python to use the 32-bit binary: defaults write com.apple.versioner.python Prefer-32-Bit -bool yes Then you can use the builtin Python and the builtin wxPython. share|improve this answer answered May 8 '11 at 0:30 Rafe Kettler 40.5

there are windows environmental variables for https://forum.kicad.info/t/python-script-not-working-in-win7-with-other-python-installs-on-system-solved/1268 those folders (path & pythonpath). Now when I start KiCAD and open a pcb an error comes up that tells me that: 14:50:14: ***** Error importing the wxPython API! *****14:50:14: pcbnewInitPythonScripting() failed. Anybody knows a workaround for this? This happens in R5798 and R6097.If I error importing try to open the scripting console KiCAD just crashes. I have other machines without the python heritage of this particular system and I don't get this error there, the scripting console loads just fine. I naturally don't want to screw up my python installation error importing the by making KiCAD work as I need the setup as it is.. already installed the latest wxpython to my python environment, but no success. Is there anything I can do to the environment variables that would help?Or put some sort of script into the KiCAD folder to tell it to look somewhere else instead of using the 'global' environment variables? Thanks! for reference: PATH: C:\Python27;C:\Python27\Scripts;E:\Data_Code\Python;[...] PYTHONPATH: C:\Python27;C:\Python27\DLLs;C:\Python27\lib;C:\Python27\lib\plat-win;C:\Python27\lib\lib-tk;C:\Python27\lib\site-packages;C:\Python27\lib\site-packages\PIL;C:\Python27\lib\site-packages\win32;C:\Python27\lib\site-packages\win32\lib;C:\Python27\lib\site-packages\Pythonwin;E:\Data_Code\Python akrylik 2015-09-02 05:28:23 UTC #2 That is odd. I have an existing C:\Python27 installation also but since the KiCad Python is constructing its own environment (dependent entirely on stuff inside c:\Program Files\KiCad) there is no conflict like you are having. See my thread: https://forum.kicad.info/t/pcbnew-using-python-scripting-under-windows/1267/1 How are you installing your KiCad? I installed my KiCad using the kicad-product-r6086.a6c94e2-x86_64.exe installer. Perhaps if you are usi
