Event Viewer tracks (in order of importance) error events, warning events, and informational events. The logs in Event Viewer provide an audited record of all Windows services and processes. The Event Viewer is enabled by default in Windows. There are three types of logs in the Event Viewer: System, Security, and Application. For each type of log, you can set properties to filter the events to be viewed, designate the number of entries to view, specify how long to save entries, and specify whether to automatically overwrite existing events when the log becomes full

One of them logs unhandled exceptions to the windows event log. The other doesn't. Is there a setting in IIS or the web.config to enable event log logging? Apologies for the broad question, I'm really looking for avenues for investigation. asp.net error-logging event-log share|improve this question asked Mar 17 '10 at 13:39 Ben asp.net error event Aston 12.9k20103191 Do you get the standard Yellow Screen of Death in both apps?
