The directories are named http.(with#s). The first http directory has the subfolders analog, hits, html (they are empty) and an error.log with

errors from the Sept 19th to the 21st and access.log with hits dating from Sept. 19th to today's date. No other files (such as previous days, etc.). The second http directory has the normal subfolders - access.log.0, analog, error.log.0, hits, html (seem to have the normal files). This http directory also has the error.log and access.log with the normal errors/hits ssh dreamhost for the current date. There are also files for the previous days' access and error logs. I thought it might have something to do with the blackout but I don't think the dates correlate. Has anyone ever had this happen or have any idea why? Could this affect my stats? The entry labelled 'http' is simply a symbolic link which points to the first directory ('http.XXXXX'). I imagine that this is the case so that you can simply refer to the log directories with the 'http' directory name in the path, instead of knowing the full name of actual log directory which, given that we have a static symlink, probably implies that the actual directory name ('http.XXXXX') has the potential to change, should your site migrate from one server to another at some future point. The data only exists in one pla

Where are the log files for my domain? They are available via ftp in your home directory, within the directory called "logs". The full paths will be something like: /home/username/logs/yourdomain.com/http.#####/access.log /home/username/logs/yourdomain.com/http.#####/error.log The italicized portions of the path above should be http://blog.dreamhosters.com/kbase/index.cgi?area=400 replaced with information relevant to you. Just look in the directory to see what ##### is. Also note that your older logs are kept in that directory as well, and named things like access.log.1.gz. The number is how many days old they are and the .gz means they are compressed. You can uncompress them with something like WinZip or Stuffit Expander. By default, we keep 3 days of logs, but you can change this to as many days as you'd like from the Status::Statistics tab (click the "days" link next to your domain). Any logs besides the last three days will count against your disk usage quota. In order to make much sense of your log files, you will need to use a log processing program. One good (commercial) option is Funnel Web. A good article with links to some other log processors can be found here.Last updated: Sep 16, 2003. I'm building a project in django on dreamhost (shared hosting). Everything is ok when i'm in debug mode and when i use the built-in server, but when i'm trying to switch dreamhost error log to prod i get a 500 internal server error. I searched for the solution in every dark room on the internet but still didn't find it. So, here is my setup : my folders : /home/user/.virtualenvs/myenv/ /home/user/project/ /home/user/project/sqlite.db /home/user/project/project/settings.py /home/user/example.com/project (a symlink to /home/user/project) /home/user/example.com/passenger_wsgi.py /home/user/example.com/public/ my passenger_wsgi.py : import sys, os INTERP = "/home/user/.virtualenvs/myenv/bin/python" if sys.executable != INTERP: os.execl(INTERP, INTERP, *sys.argv) sys.path.append('/home/user/.virtualenvs/myenv/lib/python3.3/site-packages') sys.path.append('/home/user/example.com') sys.path.append('/home/user/example.com/project') os.environ['DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE'] = "project.settings" import django.core.handlers.wsgi application = django.core.handlers.wsgi.WSGIHandler() Does anyone knows how to solve this ? EDIT I forgot to mention, i installed python 3 and django 1.5 cuz the default versions in DH are too old. django passenger wsgi dreamhost share|improve this question edited Nov 17 '15 at 9:53 pnuts 33.7k63569 asked Apr 20 '13 at 13:57 Firas 419518 Have you checked the actual error being thrown in your server logs? –Hedde van der Heide Apr 20 '13 at 14:06 yep [Sat Apr 20 05:59:26 2013] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] Premature end of script headers: internal_error.html –Firas Apr 20 '13 at 14:11 Hmm thats pretty broad,

I have been hosting with them for 18 months with few issues. I also referred more then 10 clients to them. The last referral was just yesterday and today January 10th 2009… all I noticed that my web page was taken down without a single warning… Contact them and asked for a reason. They said: you are using too much server resources. I told them I had this site up and running for the last 6 months without any change in script/visitors/database so what happened? The referred me to the error log to check. One of the support suggested that I should delete empty databases. I told her you allow us to use 100 db in your plan why would my 33 databases be an issue even if it is empty?? The reinstated my site and I started working on the error log and scripts only 5 minutes later they just took down the whole site and killed my cpanel access. I had to beg to get back my data… Moving on .. AVOID hostmonster if you are thinking of a website with more than 100 visitors a day. Once you go up bit with visitors they will take your site down. avoid empty error log Hostmonster server support tar Search Website Tags.htaccess avoid Best webhost cheap cheap webhost coupon Dedicated discount
