Two weeks ago I noticed that Outlook only starts in Safe Mode. When I looked at the error message It was related to the mso.dll file. I applied the latest service pack and all the patches available but Outlook still works only in Safe Mode. The error message relates to Application Name 10.0.6822.0 MoVer: 10.0.6825.0 Offset 0000afb7 and mso.dll Any idea how I can fix this problem so I can use Outlook again? Many thanks, Andy Report message to a moderator RE: Outlook only start in Safe mode - mso.dll error [message #143691] Fri, 23 March 2007 18:51 ShowdadMessages: 1Registered: March 2007 Junior Member I got this from another string but I just fixed the same problem you are having. Here is a link I followed http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/outlookdoesntstart.htm I got it from a post from a person named Roady. Basically all you do is change your outcmd.dat to outcmd.old Hear are the instructions I followed: Try renaming outcmd.dat to .old and restart Outlook. All the Toolbars will reset then. This is quite a common problem with Outlook. The default location for this file is: C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook I hope this works for you too. I had noticed in the event viewer that I started getting my errors on 2/19 and when I went to chage the outcmd.dat file I noticed that the last time it was modified was on the same date. I changed it to .old and Outlook started normally. "adi" wrote: > Hello everyone, > > I am running Windows XP with Office XP. > > Two weeks ago I noticed that Outlook only starts in Safe Mode.
