Is there any way of fixing that problem or making a fake ISP in some way? 0 Back to top of the page up there ^ #2 Brioche Reputation 10721 Tunngle Team Group: Administrators Posts: 17636 Joined: 25-April 09 Location: International Tunngle HQ, Italy Posted 03 July 2012 - 13:36 Hi . Port XXXXX does not appear to be open!" WHY NOT! No matter what i do, i cannot get any torrent client or DC client to connect fully to the internet. This results in pathetic (1k) speeds or the dreaded passive mode. Even with http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/showthread.php?71087-quot-Error!-Port-XXXXX-does-not-appear-to-be-open!-quot-WHY-NOT! my software and router firewalls completely disabled I still get errors on sites that are intended to check your connection. e.g. http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=13000. In DC when i use the get IP button it enters comes up with my internal ip address (10.0.01 or something) and automactically selects passive mode. Ive gone through all the steps on sites that instruct you on how to port forward and get full conections. They ALL fail. Is my home network causing this? A wierd problem in XP or, god forbid, Xtra? Please help. 26-07-2006,06:56 PM #2 roddy_boy View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Senior Member Join Date Jun 2005 Posts 2,461 Re: "Error! Port XXXXX does not appear to be open!" WHY NOT! What router are you using? Start, Control Panel, Network connections, right click on your connection, properties, scroll to Internet (TCP/IP), properties, give yourself a manual IP. Then forward to that port in your router. 26-07-2006,09:24 PM #3 imarubberducky View Profile View Forum Posts Senior Member Join Date Apr 2005 Posts 269 Re: "Error! The modem should be in factory default mode to allow it to bridge through the signal to your router. Do the port forwarding in your router and you should be okay. If worst comes to worst you can place the SS4200 in full bridge mode by connecting to it and typing in 192.168.2.1/brgmode.htm and pushing two buttons. To return it to factory default later press and
of the below errors occurs when the user is installing the client software or when user clicks Connect on their client. "Error: Failed to establish a connection to the provider website. (A personal or network firewall is probably blocking the connection. Try temporarily disabling any personal firewalls, and retry the install.)" or "Error: A network connectivity problem has been detected. A network port required for VPN (UDP port 500) does not appear to be open from this location. Check you can connect to the internet and ensure intervening firewalls/routers and your ISP support IPSec VPN. See the Help for more information." (Error codes 789 or 792) Probable Causes 1) A personal firewall is installed on the users computer and is blocking outbound IPSec traffic. The client software needs to be able to make a connection using the standard IPSec ports (port 500 and port 4500). Or 2) The user is connecting from a corporate network which may have outbound IPSec traffic blocked. Resolutions 1) Disable the personal firewall and attempt to connect. If connection attempt is successful this confirms that the personal firewall is causing the problem. The personal firewall will need to be configured to allow IPSec traffic. 2) Request outbound IPSec access from the network administrator, or use an “open” internet connection such as Wifi or 3G.
