Now My bios detects it as a CD-Drive(I think I remember it detecting it as a dvd drive.) not sure WIndows Detects it as a DVD-RW..which is good.Was able to burn a data disc using just windows vista. Also when I use Nero or PowerISO to burn a DVD it stop before it starts burning and give me and error. PowerISO error:Error writing data(439-00000000 9a059b5c) Ive been haivng this problem for a while and cant firgure it out. Ive Reinstalled CP pro sp3 then nothing. Last night Installed Vista Ultimate and still same problem..Except now I can burn with windows but I need to use a burner program to make a bootable disc. UPDATE: I forgot to add that I originally had this problem with my samsung dvd lightscribe burner and got a new liteon burner yesturay but still am having the same problem. This seems to happen only with R/W DVDs. I cannot format the disc because my computer keeps telling me that my blank discs are write protected. These are brand new, and can be read on another PC. I've even reformatted and when I look at Properties for the disc, it says all 4.38GB is used, with 0 available space. I have checked in the device manager, and it says that the drive is working properly and the driver is up to date. I have tried several different discs.
