Actually you should have a copy of your map on the computer. Home stores the downloaded version which can be manually installed. See step 4. Manually install maps from the download folder. But first lets take care of the other problem. Homebase I/O error. this is a problem with the flash memory drive in the gps. Hopefully it is a soft error which can be recovered by formatting the memory. Since you don't have any map on the gps there is no point in creating a backup. However there are a few files you can copy over to your hard drive to be reinstalled on the gps later. Here is a list of these files which are located in the main (root) directory of the gps. Copy them to the hard drive. 1. antitheftw.bmp (this may have the named antitheft.bmp) 2. autorun.inf 3. splashw.bmp (this may have the named splash.bmp) 4. suspendw.bmp (this may have the named suspend.bmp) 5. tomtom.ico Here are the steps to restore your gps. 1. Format memory: Click Start > My Computer. Then right-click your navigation device and click Format. Make sure FAT32 is selected under File system. Make sure Quick Format is not selected. Click Start. A warning is shown. Click OK. Windows formats your device. 2. Remove old files in Home: In TomTom HOME, click Manage my device. Click Items on computer. Select Applications and Voices. Click Remove items from computer. 3. Restore application software to the gps. In HOME, click Update my device. Select the application and at least one voice. Click Update and install. Click Done. Note: when reinstalling the gps software you may have to perform up to three updates to get everything installed. It is important to disconnect the gps and restart the gps before performing another update. The gps may not work correctly until all the updates are inst

After installation I linked my Tomtom XL to it. I selected a few items I wanted to update (Tom Tom application of XL) and QuickGPSfix. They download fine, but when it goes to step 3: Install to hard disk I get the following error. The file which gives the error https://en.discussions.tomtom.com/one-start-40-50-series-ease-home-21/could-not-install-a-new-map-on-my-one-142409 is everytime different when i try again. Anyone any suggestion how to solve the problem? Problems!!!! fishy 0 Points December 2007 edited November -1 in TomTom Car Forum First I did a search but not much http://forums.gpsreview.net/discussion/3239/problems turned up on my issue.I last plugged my TT LE about a week https://github.com/sylvek/itracing2/issues/5 ago and did gps fix and small map updates. The upgrade seemed to have some issues but nothing fatal.Have not used it since. Turned it on today and tried to navigate to address and it locks up when I am putting in street names. I thought, well my backup isn't too old error writing so I will do that and re-install everything else. Can't do backup and can't see the directory on my computer. I am going to try laptop but has anybody had this issue before?Anyway to take the backup manually and re-install it?Thanks, Comments fishy 0 Points December 2007 Ok, Fired up laptop that had same back up as other computer and getting different issues. Getting following error."Some error writing file volumes (for example storage card) that were present during backup are not currently present on your TT and cannot be backed up."No sd card was used at any time on the TT.I believe this may have to do with my home computer renaming the directory or something. On the home it was E: and on the laptop it is G:I may go into windows and change the drive letter unless someone can show me what files to manually install from the backup. If not I will be on the phone wed. to tech support. Thanks, Tim 1448 Points December 2007 Turned it on today and tried to navigate to address and it locks up when I am putting in street names. Have you tried a reset? fishy 0 Points December 2007 Yes.Now it turns on, then the only map I have is Guam. I go to preferences to change map and Guam is the only map available. I have reset now 3 times and restored 3 times with no change. I am very suspect of the restore cause it only takes about 1 minute. Adamquestion 0 Points December 2007 Yes.Now it turns on, then

How did you work out its communication? Btw here is the teardown of the iTag PCB . I find no mention of "ST17H25 datasheet" in google for the BLE SoC Owner sylvek commented Oct 27, 2015 Hi, the only information that i have is the name "Quintic PROXR". your link is very interesting. sylvek added the question label Oct 27, 2015 mofosyne commented Oct 27, 2015 Your reference BLE tag you used is same in shape as mine? Oh btw, it might be a good idea to use the wiki to record any findings on the gatt profile of various tags. E.g. what each services exist and how to respond to each of em (maybe one of them have the wrong battery address?) Owner sylvek commented Oct 27, 2015 yes exactly the same… i suppose that the problem is under the android code of your phone :-/ :-/ mofosyne commented Oct 27, 2015 True true. Btw what's your guess about "SWS" pin on the PCB? I deduced PWM1 as the LED, and BZ+ to be for the buzzer. But I am not sure what SWS stands for. I wonder if its a way to "program" the microcontroller? Or is it serial output? Then again... there is also a possibility that the IC is hardcoded and locked. hosek commented Oct 27, 2015 Opened mine (http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/NUQAAOSw3ydV5nNb/s-l500.jpg) same shape, same pcb, but the chip has different labeling: TL SR8266 F512ET32 CK1526 cfapom 1p Owner sylvek commented Oct 27, 2015 My device contains.. You got a really beautiful board. It even has rx and tx. Which is probably the serial port. ``` sylvek's tag: VCC = Positive Voltage Source GND = Ground Voltage RX = UART receive? TX = UART transmit? DT(N?) = ? IN = Input something? CLK = Input Clock Signal RST = reset ``` Maybe the RST,CLK,IN,DTN is part of a programming interface Could try soldering to GND, RX, and TX
