When I plug the printer directly into my Ubuntu 10.10 desktop, it works fine. If I connect to the printer shared from a Windows Vista computer, it prints fine. But if I connect to the SAMBA share on the print server it does not work. The error message is "Error writing spool: Call timed out: server did not respond after 1000 milliseconds." If I use a windows computer to connect to the Samba Shared printer on the print server it works fine. I set the System, Administration, Printing, Server, Settings by clicking the first four boxes Then I went to the cupsd.conf file in the /etc/cups directory and added three lines, all the same.

I recently built a new Fedora 8 box on an old Dell that was previously running FC5. I have a second hard disk mounted under /mnt/store that holds all my pictures, music, videos, etc and I have an NFS mount point on /mnt/store that I connect to from 2 other Fedora boxes and also need to share Pictures, Music & Videos folders underneath /mnt/store for a couple of Windows boxes. This configuration was working fine in FC5. I ma
