Nsis Error Windows 10
OFFLINE ikjadoon ikjadoon Newbie Members 2 posts Posted 07 May 2009 - 05:42 PM Hi. The new update for me will NOT install; I get this NSIS error: "Error writing http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/nsis-error-error-writing-to-temp-file-make-sure/db0ba91f-8a90-4b8c-8da5-5c818c3e222c temporary file. Make sure your temp folder is valid." What is this and how can I fix it? I searched the forums, but I didn't find anything, unfortunately...I downloaded it twice, as well. And, yes, I definitely have these folders: C:\Users\My Profile\AppData\Local\Temp C:\Windows\Temp Thanks! ~Ibrahim~ Back to top #2 OFFLINE TheOdds TheOdds Advanced Member Members 74 posts Gender:Male Posted 08 May https://forum.piriform.com/?showtopic=21884 2009 - 04:59 AM You need admin rights to run the installer. The fact that you get that specific error can actually mean that the installer runs with really limited user rights and the installer doesn't even have the right to write in the temp folder. If you have rights on your own computer install it on there and copy the CCleaner folder to a USB flash drive and run it from there on any computer you want too. I do that ay work because they won't install it anymore. If you want to use the same settings as your computer

Page 1 of 4 1 2 3 4 Next > Advertisement pook123 Thread Starter Joined: Sep 20, 2007 Messages: 146 When I want to download software from the internet, I get the following message: "Error writing temporary file. Make sure your temp file is valid". Yesterday it had NSIS infront of it, today it does not. I looked online and cannot see any valid fixes. Are you please able to help? This happened after I installed a bunch of Windows updates, although I see people have been having this problem for a couple of years. Additional info; I'm not sure if it has to do anything with the issue: When the "run" button comes up after it downloads, beneath it, there is a message that says, "THis file is in a location outside your local network. Files from locations outside you don't recognize can harm your pc. Only run this file if you trust this location". Then I press, "run" and get the above message. But I'm getting this message on anything I try to download, even from well-know sites. THank you. pook123, Jul 31, 2013 #1 Sponsor TerryNet Terry Moderator Joined: Mar 23, 2005 Messages: 71,940 With what are you downloading (maybe some version of Internet Explorer?)? Do you get this also when simply downloading (saving the file) or only when trying to Run the file without saving it? TerryNet, Jul 31, 2013 #2 pook123 Thread Starter Joined: Sep 20, 2007 Messages: 146 Hi, Thanks for answering so quickly. To give you an example, One time, I was trying to download VLC Media player from their site, Videolan SEcond time, I was trying to download a password keeper/organizer, "Dashlane" from a referral site from a family member. So far, I only get it when I hit "run". I have not tried to save any files yet, but it does download into a folder, and then I try to hit "run". The above examples are two of about five places I've tried to download software on the web. I stopped finally because nothing is allowing me to get past "run". pook123, Jul 31, 2013 #3 pook123 Thread Starter Joined: Sep 20, 2007 Messages: 146 To clarify the above - when I say "I only get it", I mean the error message about temp folder I am getting pook123, Jul 31, 2013 #4 flavallee Frank Trusted Advisor Joined: May 12, 2002 Messages: 70,072 You
