Communicate with the Printer (USB) Published 08/08/2003 10:26 AM | Updated 08/08/2003 10:29 AM Error Writing to USBPRN01 or Printer not Responding error message Windows 98 and Windows Me Make sure that there is a direct connection between the printer and USB port of the computer. Reboot the computer with the printer’s USB cable unattached and reconnect the cable once the computer has restarted. Use the following troubleshooting checklist to establish USB communications between the printer and computer for Windows 98 and Windows Me: Ensure your printer is powered on (steady green light) and connected directly to the USB port on the computer. Ensure the USB port is functioning properly in the Device Manager. · You can access the Device Manager by opening Control Panel and then double-clicking on the System icon. Click the Device Manager tab. At the bottom of the device list, click the [+] next to Universal Serial Bus Controller. Under this, you should have a line for a USB Universal Host Controller and another line for a USB Root Hub. Upon turning it on, power error writing lamp flashes six times (though BJ Cartridges are properly installed). The cartridge holder also does not move to centre. To check if ink cartridges are properly installed, I would force the holder towards the centre. Trying to print documents, error messages like error writing to error writing to USBPRN01 appears on the windows. I have checked all the connections, cable etc. but still it wouldn’t work.
