CD title and track information. This simple utility sits as a proxy between EAC and Freedb and fixes up the request on the way through. There is a commandline switch for EAC “-http1.1″ that could resolve the issue without the need for this tool. See http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.php/resources/whats-new/whats-new/ June 1, 2005 comment. However, it didn't fix the exact audio copy guide issue for me. How to use it Run the application and click Go. You can modify the port settings if it clashes with something else on your system (but this version won't remember the change for next time). Configure EAC to have a proxy server using the same port number (under EAC -> Freedb/Database options): FAQ Why does this issue not affect everyone? I believe this could be because some people are knowingly or unknowingly behind proxy servers that are fixing up the web request on the way through. Why is this not a windows service so I don't have to keep manually running it everytime? Because it's not intended to be a solution forever, hopefully EAC team will get round to fixing their application. If I get more than 10 downloads - perhaps there'll be a version 2 :-) (please put a comment in the discussions if this is something you need) Why do you think this is EACs issue? I used TCPT

I http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/freedb-org-server-error.133906/ have been trying to get it to work or to find alternatives ever since and I had no luck. EAC reports "Error - cannot connect to host" or "Error - Server Error" or "HTTP Protocol Failure" after searching for 30 seconds or so. I have the URL for the server set to "http://freedb.freedb.org:80/~cddb/cddb.cgi" I am running Vista exact audio 32bit and I was not having any trouble until some point yesterday. Are the freedb servers down? Is there one? The freedb site just says it's random. I tried using the URL you posted and I still got a Server Error message. psycho Full Member Joined: 14 October, 2005 Posts: 241 Logged freedb Problems Reply #3 – 16 February, 2007, 02:21:18 PM EAC already has all the mirrors to select from. Just go to EAC -> freedb options -> freedb server drop down menu. I just tried the Austrian mirror, it works for me... Maybe you have some kind of connection problems... maybe your EAC can't access the net because of your firewall or smth. lame -V 0 broodwich Newbie Joined: 08 January, 2007 Posts: 7 Logged freedb Problems Reply #4 – 16 February, 2007, 02:43:35 PM Quote from: psycho on 16 February, 2007, 02:21:18 PMEAC already has all the mirrors to select from. GORT Staff Thread Starter Location: NY Is anyone else having problems connecting to freedb? It started yesterday afternoon. A quick google sees some discussion about it on other forums, but I don't see any official notices about estimated time of restoration? Any news? stereoptic, Dec 6, 2007 #1 Oyama Active Member Location: Canada Funny, I was having problems last night and did quick search here on the forum and found your old post. Anyway, I ended up using the MusicBrainz to FreeDB Gateway and it worked.
