Maybe it's just a damaged archive.... –Flow Dec 1 '12 at 14:43 As @Flow mentioned, did you try to extract files on a PC? Besides, what app / tool are you using to extract? What do you mean by "go through" all files? Still my guess is the ZIP file may be corrupt. –Suraj Bajaj Dec 1 '12 at 15:26 Also be sure that its a zip file not a rar or tar. Also use ES Explorer or File Expert program to open the file. –avirk Dec 1 '12 at 16:20 It means the author of the app you're using needs to hire someone who can write error messages. –Dan Hulme♦ Sep 23 '13 at 23:37 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote The most likely explanation is that the compressed file is corrupt. Are you trying to uncompress a rar file, or a standard zip file? rar extraction is only supported with certain processors. The easiest way to tell, is to try and extract the same zip file on a computer, and see what it says. share|improve this answer answered Dec 1 '12 at 15:47 Liam W 7,07592960 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email

CRC stands for cyclic redundancy check. It is http://kb.winzip.com/kb/entry/41/ a calculation made from all the data in a file to insure accuracy. When you add a file to a Zip file, WinZip calculates a CRC value for the file and saves the value in the Zip http://www.yodot.com/zip-repair/error-while-extracting-zip-file.html file. When you later extract the file from the Zip file, WinZip calculates the CRC of the extracted file and compares it to the value stored when the file was zipped. If these two CRC values do extract error not match, the file that was extracted does not match the original file, and WinZip will display a CRC Error message. When the data in a Zip file is damaged, it may not be possible to extract all of the files from the Zip file correctly. Damaged data can affect the entire Zip file, multiple files, or just one file. Why CRC Errors Occur There are many possible causes for data damage. Among the most extract error matlab common is a transfer error when downloading a Zip file from the internet. Such an error can introduce invalid data into a Zip file. Some other possible causes include exposure of media to excessive temperatures or magnetic fields, cross linked disk sectors, and mechanical problems with disk drives. What to do if a CRC Error Occurs The best solution to the problem of a damaged Zip file is to try to obtain another copy of the file. For example, use your backup copy of the file or get a new copy from the original source. If you obtained the Zip file by downloading it, then downloading it again will almost always solve the problem. Start WinZip and open the damaged Zip file Use the current available method for unzipping files to a particular folder In the Unzip dialog, select a target folder and click Unzip (XP users - Select the All files/folders in archive radio button and click Extract) WinZip will extract any undamaged files
Extracting ZIP File Posted by: Lucy John Follow me: @Lucyy_John In this modern world of information and technology, all users or administrators store huge amount of files and folders on their Windows computers. In order to compress these files and folders into one single file people use ZIP compression technique. Compressing files into ZIP file format saves a lot of system memory and more to this; these files can be easily shared or transmitted via internet, but errors while extracting these ZIP files are also a common issue. Windows operating system has numerous error messages. Sometimes when you are unzipping your files from a ZIP archive, you may encounter an error message popping up saying, "An error occurred while unzipping. Before finding out the way to repair this error, first let us understand the meaning of the error. Error 110 definition: This error refers to a file input / output condition, which is technically known as “ERROR_OPEN_FAILED”. The error generally means that the ZIP file which you are trying to extract cannot be opened on your computer. There are mainly three possible reasons for this error as listed below. The OS system you are using is not compatible with the ZIP file. Like, if you have an older version of Windows, you may not be able to unzip a file which is created on a newer OS. At this kind situation you encounter this error This error may also occur if the ZIP file is severely infected by virus / malwares The third reason is that the ZIP file is itself corrupt due to CRC, broken download, power failure or any other reason Solution For the first cause, you may try upgrading your Windows operating system to a newer version, The second scenario can be solved by installing an anti virus program to your computer and using that program to remove
