Some system-provided interface elements, such as pickers, switches, and sliders, automatically provide haptic feedback as users interact with them. To give you the ability to generate haptics in an app that targets iOS 10, UIKit introduces the new UIFeedbackGenerator class and three concrete subclasses, each of which enables https://developer.apple.com/library/content/releasenotes/General/WhatsNewIniOS/Articles/iOS10.html haptics that are appropriate for a specific scenario, as shown in Table 1.Table 1Concrete feedback generator classes and example usagesClass nameExample usageUIImpactFeedbackGeneratorProvides a physical experience that complements the visual feedback for an action or task. For example, the user might feel a thud when a view slides into place or two objects collide.UINotificationFeedbackGeneratorIndicates that a task or action, such as depositing a check or unlocking a vehicle, has completed, failed, or produced a warning of some kind.UISelectionFeedbackGeneratorIndicates that the selection is actively changing. For example, the user feels light taps while scrolling a picker wheel.Using one of the concrete subclasses, you ask the system to generate haptics for a specific scenario and iOS manages the strength and behavior of the feedback based on the scenario you choose. In addition, you can call the prepare method of UIFeedbackGenerator to inform the system that haptic feedback is about to be required and to minimize latency. The app has been completely redesigned for facebook messenger both iOS and Android platforms and boasts many aesthetic and functionality changes as well.Aside from the new look, the biggest change is the ability to message people who aren’t among your Facebook friends. This is contingent on whether you allow the app to access your phone number and/or contacts list; if you allow it, others will be able to message you directly, regardless of whether they are how to change on your list of friends, and you’ll be able to do the same.In addition to those features, the new app allows you to see which of your friends are currently online and using the Messenger app—and to send messages to any of them via their phone numbers. This is a huge deal for those who are on limited messaging plans and want to stay in touch via text messages. While there are still a few privacy issues to work out with this new messaging app, I think it’s a good upgrade for Facebook users and a nice addition to your digital life if you want all the messaging capabilities of Facebook without all the other stuff like photos, news feeds, and so on.The new Messenger app is available via the iOS App Store or the Google Play store now. Try it out and let us know what you think about it in the comments field below this post. Posted By Deanna Zaucha in Facebook for Business, Small Business Strategy On Thursday, April 16, 2015 Technology evolves rapidly – and that speed doubles (or even triples) with respect to the state of social media. Of course, one of our favorite platforms to discuss is Facebook; and fortunately Facebook updates are constant and riveting. The latest update to share is of interest for consumers and businesses alike with a focus on mobile, messaging, and monetization: Facebook Messenger. In just the last year, Facebook has periodically enhanced the messaging feature with voice calling, location sharing, emoticons, and photo sharing. And the last update saw the social giant splitting Messenger away from the Facebook mobile app into its own entity. So when Facebook announced that they had a new innovation in mind with their 600 million active-user Messenger app at the annual F8 Developer Conference, everyone was listening. Here's what they heard about: Third-Party Apps Facebook tends to be one of the more developer-friendly APIs and the new announcement will foster growth in that relationship. Messenger will now seamlessly integrate with app store to install apps directly from Messenger, and share animated GIFs, sound clips, stickers, video clips, and other content from their initial 40 app partners. With a new tab in Messenger, users will be able to discover new apps, download the ones they love, and share the opportunity with friends. Meaning that if the recipients of the content do not already have the app installed to see it, they can tap install to be taken directly to the app store and get started using the app. The big lure for users is to send various forms of media to friends and family like the especially-popular animated GIF. For example, services like The Weather Channel and ESPN have joined the partnership and can now send information and updates directly to their users.
