UA-XXXXX-1 is for live site and google analytics i set the URL at GA was www.example.com UA-XXXXX-2 is for staging site and the url for GA was www.example.com/staging Then, I uploaded my file to staging site at 27 June, 2016 ( UA-XXXXX-2 ), tested the GA and all page tracking working good. But when I switch to UA-XXXXX-1's GA reporting, it already got tracking data inside, may I know why? Because I didn't implement the GA code ( UA-XXXXX-1 ) before, somemore I check the userflow, it doesn't have any google analytics tracking valid url for me to debug. May I know is this a normal incident/error from Google Analytic? Or somehow anything I did wrong? Anyone has this problem previously? google-analytics share|improve this question asked Jun 29 at 16:59 Mavichow 1133 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted This is probably bot or spam data. The easiest way to tell is to look at the Hostname dimension, which you can do by adding it as a secondary dimension to a standard report. You'll probably see a strange hostname such as 'clickhere.xyz' or 'freesocialbuttons.xyz'. Don't try going to the site! This kind of spam is caused by people firing off huge batches of hits to random Google Analytics IDs in the hope that someone like you will notice, and try visiting the site where it came from. Don't feed the trolls. share|improve this answer answered Jul 1 at 13:48 J Brazier 1963 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service. Events are working fine. web-app (ofc not using the plugin) is working fine. google reports http status -1 (not always), which seems not to track. Also if sometimes it's tracking at least the intial load, it never reports the correct active page or page title, it always takes it out of the title-tag (basically sends a hit without paramters). I've also got a warning which i cant really place (also only sometimes): Aug 8 10:57:12 iPhone *[2171]
