When Gcal synch runs, google calendar I get, "could not initialize Google Calendar Sync add-in for Microsoft Outlook: error -2147418111, code 1007. Please see our Help Center for more information." This is due to a fake (Microsoft calls it a "place holder") disabled add-in called ShowSenderPhoto, purposely added for internal development by Microsoft. In Microsoft's eternal wisdom, this item is disabled by design and if re-enabled will subsequently disable itself the next google calendar sync time you launch Outlook. This disabled add-in, when enabled, allows the Google Calendar Sync add-in to function, but when I exit Outlook, poof! Microsoft's eternal "wisdom" causes Google Calendar Sync to fail with the aforementioned error.I searched for an answer (yes, using Google) and didn't come up with anything useful. Other than having to load Outlook, enable the add-in and minimize Outlook to the system tray I am unable to find any other solution. If anyone has a fix, please let me know. Thanks in advance · actions · 2009-Jul-12 7:29 am · auggyModjoin:2001-12-24Brockville, ON auggy Mod 2009-Jul-12 10:23 pm Re: [Outlook] Google Calendar Won't Synch Due To Fake Disabled IThe disabled add-in ShowSenderPhoto should not affect the Google Calendar Sync add-in.It may be that the Google Calendar Sync add-in is not installed or recognized correctly.Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Calendar Sync add-in using the latest version of the add-in?Also, was there ever an older version of Outlook installed? · actions · 2009-Jul-12 10:23 pm · mbernsteMVMjoin:2001-06-30Piscataway, NJ mbernste MVM 2009-Jul-13 3:28 am said by auggy:The disabled add-in ShowSenderPhoto should not affect the Google Calendar Sync add-in.Yes it does.
