Groupwise Odma Integration Error Word 2010

Favorite Rating: ODMA Integration Unable to load resource lib (Last modified: 22Dec1999) This document (2952337) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document. Symptom GroupWise 5.5.x/32Bit client users are getting errors on WIN NT 4.0 (SP3 or SP4) on startup of MSEXCEL97 and when doing FILE/OPEN in MSWORD97 or MSPOWERPOINT97. Error in MSWORD97/MSPOWERPOINT97 when doing file/open: "GroupWise ODMA Integration: Unable to load the resource library. Exit the current application, install the resource library and restart your application". The customer DIDN''T install the applications integration (he unmarked them during the installation). The installation has been done while logged in as admin and is a standard GW installation on the local harddrive of the workstation. Later, a different user log into that workstation with no admin rights (he/she do have the default WIN NT users rights). If the customer logs in as the user who is supposed to work with that workstation and reinstalls the GW client everything works fine. We also found out that renaming ODMA32.DLL and unchecking the applications integration in the GW client solves at least the errors with WORD and POWERPOINT. The same error occurs when trying to create a new worklow item in the GW client. Error in MSEXCEL97: "MS VISUAL BASIC. Runtime error 1004. Error executing method ONKEY for the object_application" (This is a translated errormessage!). This occurs when starting up MS Excel97 and a dialoguebox with this message appears 15 times. Solutions In order to resolve this problem, the missing registry entries must manually be added to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry branch. Once added, the keys will be stored for each user in their HKEY_USERS branch, so this needs to be done only one time per new NT user. The missing key which causes the error is as follows: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Novell\GroupWise\Interface Language" This key should have a default value set to the language of GroupWise which is in use (i.e "US" for the English version). This key can be added manually, or via ZENWorks and NAL. The only other way to add this key (and others) is to reinstall the GroupWise client while logged in as each user. If integrations are not desired, there are currently several workarounds which can be used to eliminate this problem and disable integrations: 1a) In the WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory rename the ODMA32.DLL in order to remove the application integration with ODMA enabled applications like MSWORD97 or WordPerfect. 1b) Remove the GWXL97.XLA macro in the XLSTART directory which is being us
