Peter If you are receiving the "Unable to initialize network" error when launching the Homebrew Browser application from the Homebrew Channel, press the Home key to return to the Homebrew Channel, wait for the globe icon in the lower-right corner of the screen to stop http://www.brainstormwarning.org/2009/05/09/wii-homebrew-browser-unable-to-initialize-network-error-solution blinking and remain solid, and launch the Homebrew Browser again. The globe icon in the https://gbatemp.net/threads/homebrew-broswer-read-error-6-occured-problem-please-help.334938/ Homebrew Channel indicates the network connection status. If the icon is blinking, the Wii is still trying to establish a network connection. If the icon is lit and solid, the Wii has established a network connection. If the globe icon continues blinking after 30 seconds or if it is grayed out, check your Wii's network connection settings. This entry was posted in Games, homebrew browser Technology by Peter. Because I wii homebrew browser still get the unable to initialise network error Log in to Reply Peter on June 8, 2009 at 1:58 pm said: It may take a few tries for the Homebrew Browser to connect to the Internet, even after the Homebrew Channel establishes a network connection. I'd recommended rebooting your wireless router and stopping any downloads or uploads (e.g. BitTorrent) before trying again. I've updated to the last version of the browser and it started working. Try this if the connection seems solid, you have an older version and nothing happens after initializing the network. Good luck! Please, HELP! by eraser400 at 10:21 PM (10,290Views / 0Likes) 5replies OP Newcomer eraser400 Member Joined: Mar 9, 2012 Messages: 29 Country: Hi, So two days ago I wanted to use the homebrew browser. So I updated it and then I and I kept on getting this message: "Requesting repositories list... Read Error -6 occurred. Retrying... Read Error -6 occurred. Retrying... Read Error -6 occurred. Retrying... Read Error -6 occurred. Retrying... Read Error -6 occurred. Retrying..." and just keeps on going. I deleted and reinstalled several times and it just keeps on happening. i even got deleted the temp folder to see if it would fix it but it didn't. Also, it says "Requesting IP address of _________________...Failed, using stored IP address" and the it proceeds to the above "repositories message... How do I fix this? PLEASE HELP! *Also I got it to work (before I updated it) UNupdated and i wasn't able to click on the "Emulators" section.. Why wasn't it working? That's why i initially updated it.... Thanks. eraser400, Sep 25, 2012 Top #1 Member Fishaman P Speedrunner Joined: Jan 2, 2010 Messages: 3,158 Location: Wisconsin Country: 1) You can't click on the Emulators section because there's nothing in it. Likely a non-standard repository was enabled. 2) Have you tried deleting the Homebrew Browser's config files? 3) If 2) fails, use the Panasonic SD Formatter and just put a fresh HBB on.
