Add comment Please sign in to comment Thank you! I had this same problem. I cleaned the cartridge and carriage contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. hp deskjet 932c driver I reinstalled the cartridges. The light is off and I am printing. - unknown 0 I've cleaned everything. Followed all advice from HP. Error remains. Repair guy says it will cost more than it's worth to even bring this printer in. But I have some http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud09170 brand new cartridges now. Am I really just out of luck? This seemed like a great printer, and hasn't had that much use. Advice welcome. by kristen on May 8, 2005 at 12:12pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The DJ 932 can use either the HP 15 or 45 black cartridge. The DJ 940 can use only the HP 15. Both printers use the HP 78 color cartidge. Cartridges can be defective out of the box. It seems odd that both printerd would fail in the http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/28461 same way. I would test the cartridges in a known working printer. Any DJ 900 series will accept the 15 and 78. The DJ 920 and 940 accept the 15 and 78 only. by Bert on May 8, 2005 at 2:59pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I have the same blinking light problem!! Did you guys above find a solution to this? cause I think i have 2 fully functioning printers but currently are no more then paper-weights..Much thanks!!Greg by greg_overholt on Dec 9, 2005 at 8:57am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I had same error light problems, called hp, and was told to clean out wells and switch cartridges and stuff...nothing worked...then one day i was examining the inside and found massive glob of black ink toner at far right end or printer, which apparently had dripped or been dumped out of cartridge for no reason. by Anonymous on Jan 16, 2006 at 6:10am Add comment Please sign in to comment Did cleaning out the wells fix the error light?I've had the toner error light flashing. I cleaned the contacts on both cartridges and on the printer itself. I also found a mass of black ink/glop on the well on the right side of the printer.I cleaned out some of the glop, but the error lig

ProductsHomearound the homeproductivityHow to Reset an HP Inkjet CartridgeHow to Reset an HP Inkjet CartridgeBy Chris MooreWhile a Hewlett Packard (HP) inkjet cartridge can be refilled easily, getting it to work again in the printer is another matter. The contacts on the back of the cartridge are programmed to read the ink level, but they don't reset for the printer just because you add more ink. You must get the printer to recognize the cartridge as new. You can do this easily if you have two other old cartridges, or you can manipulate the contacts on the refilled cartridge.Things You'll NeedAdhesive tapeStep 1Insert the cartridge you refilled into the HP printer. Have the printer print an alignment page, thus recognizing the cartridge. The printer will still read the ink level as where it was before you refilled it.Step 2Remove the cartridge from the printer and replace it with another old cartridge. Have the printer print an alignment page with this cartridge so it recognizes it as a different cartridge from the first one.Step 3Replace the second cartridge with a third one and run the same alignment page. Because the printer only retains the memory of two print cartridges, it will erase the memory of the first (refilled) cartridge.Step 4Insert the refilled cartridge into the printer. The printer will now recognize the cartridge as being full.Step 1Tape over the contact squares on the top left corner of the cartridge's contacts. Insert the cartridge into the printer and run an alignment page. Ignore any messages that might appear saying there is a problem with the cartridge.Step 2Take the cartridge out of the printer. Remove the tape from the left corner and tape over the contact squares on the top right corner. Place the cartridge back in and run another alignment page.Step 3Remove and reinsert the cartridge, this time with no tape on any of the contacts. Check to see if the printer recognizes the cartridge as being full.Step 4Repeat the above steps if the cartridge is still shown as being empty. This time, use the bottom corner contact squares instead of the top ones. If you are still unable to reset the cartridges, using multiple cartridges is likely the only way to do it.Tips & WarningsIf you have three cartridges, refill all three of them and label them as "1
