Something like WD-40 or 3-in-1, nothing too thick. Also check that one of the bronze bushings hasn't come out. (where the rail goes thru the printhead.)Hope this helps?!Dazz UK by hpwizard on Sep 21, 2006 at 4:32am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I think the 90020502 is a paper motion error, generally caused by a failure of the paper encoder PCB, it could be caused by anything that keeps the feed rollers from turning. Listen to the printer when the error occurs, if the rollers turn faster than normal it's the PCA or possibly a dirty encoder disc.90020503 would be a carriage jam.The DeskJet 990 evolved into the 6122, so the following link might be helpful:http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/38020#1After a little more reading the 90020501 is probably a failure of the spot sensor. What I mean by this is the error codes that are returned when the internal diagnostics are run an HP printer. I've searched the HP site and Googled this error code but get no returns. The error code is: 90020101. The problem I just started having with my printer is that it will print no color but red when color printing. I've tried 3 different color cartridges, run all available software cleaning procedures, and cleaned the contact pins with isopropyl alcohol. This happens when printing from Linux and Windows. I've also printed the internal test page that HP printers have and it comes out red too. We've had a few power surges lately and I suspect that one of them may have damaged a board, but was just hoping that someone might be able to confirm this through the error code. Oops.
