PRINTERCAT : Hi, this is Michelle and i will be assisting youPRINTERCAT : andy is not online at the moment however, i will surely assist you in this matterPRINTERCAT : as per the problem post you have mentioned, it seems it could be the paper sensor that might be detecting the jamPRINTERCAT : please first of all clean the basepads against which the carriage assembly moves with a tissue to ensure that there are no ink depositsPRINTERCAT : secondly have a look at a small slotted plastic piece with a spring attcahed to it below the papaer feed trayPRINTERCAT : that is the paper feed sensor. in case its pulled out or misplaced from its location it may give a paper jam error wherein actually there is nothing stuckPRINTERCAT : also do let me know if you get any error code on teh printer displayJACUSTOMER-gmimetaf- : Hi Michelle,JACUSTOMER-gmimetaf- : Hi MichellsPRINTERCAT : hiJACUSTOMER
Join Date: Dec 2002 My HP Printer Thinks it Has a Paper Jam But it doesn't. There is no paper stuck in there. Still, the screen keeps flashing "paper jam", and I can't get it to print. I've tried turning it off, I've tried pressing cancel, but it's stuck in "jam mode". Any thoughts on how I can fix this? It's a HP Officejet J6840 Printer. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? It's a HP Officejet J6840 Printer. Mine does this all the time and I always have to restart my computer (assuming your computer is connected to the printer). Remove the panel and make sure there isn't a piece of paper jammed in it.
