If you want to further clarify the error you can either change the Reason Phrase or include a body to explain the error. 412 - Precondition failed is used for conditional requests when using last-modified date and ETags. 403 - Forbidden is used when the server wishes to prevent access to a resource. The only other choice that is possible is 422 - Unprocessable entity. share|improve this answer answered May 25 '11 at 11:32 Darrel Miller 86k17131196 7 while it is often used in this context, 403 is not limited to acces control, since rfc2616-10.4.4 says: "The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. I thought I fixed this problem a month ago per another discussion's suggestions. I had been getting the "+1(1)216116-11 Error Invalid Number Please re-send using valid 10 digit number" message even 400 vs 422 though the numbers were 10 digit. I deleted the contacts and texts. After I tried everything--I figured it out! Even after I deleted the contact and set it all back up again, it still wouldn't work and I would get the "+1(1)216116-11 Error Invalid Number Please re-send using valid 10 digit number" error message. BY chance, as I was typing in the number for a new trial text, the number popped up from "recent history" (the list of all recent texts to that number or name). Even though I had deleted ALL texts to and from her and all contact info, the number was still stored elsewhere. It dawned on me that her number and her contact info was stored in the memory as "recent text history". I had to delete every instance of a text that had her number in it (including group texts), then when I reentered it, it worked! I believe the whole thing started when someone had her incomplete number in a group text, and from then on, it was getting her number from that recent text instead of mine! I found it by accident and there HAS to be an easier way, but here are the steps:1. Delete the name and number from your contact2. Start a new text by typing in the first letter or so of the person's name (or the digits of the number) and they should still pop up in a drop down box3. Ins

The format of the data node will be a JSON array when the response may contain one or more results. http status code It will be returned as JSON hash when only one result is possible in response. In some rare cases, you may see a response that would typically include a collection with a hashmap instead. In this case, assume the single hashmap is an object of the same type as specified in the type field.Error Response StructureError responses are served with a non-200-series HTTP code. Usually a JSON response will be attached, but some errors will respond with different kinds of body. In these circumstances where a response struture cannot be parsed, consider the HTTP code's core meaning to take precedence. For instance, you may occasionally see a HTTP 404 along with a HTML response. In this case, it's safe to assume that the content cannot be found (HTTP 404 means "Not Found").Typical error responses follow a similar structure to successful responses.
