(DT = Direct Thermal media and is a type of label that does not use the ribbon for inking, but is treated with a chemical to make it turn black when high heat is applied to it. To change this setting follow the directions below. 1. Press the Setup button. 2. Press the right arrow until you see media. 3. Press down. 4. Press the right arrow until intermec pm4i service manual you see paper type. 5. Press down. You should see DT (direct thermal). 6. Press the right arrow until you see TTR (thermal transfer). 7. There are 2 possible causes for this error code. Either http://intermec.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9393/~/pm4i---ribbon-fitted-error. you are using ribbon and have it loaded improperly and/or the sensor is malfunctioning, or you are using direct thermal paper that does not use ribbon, and your printer is configured wrong. If you use thermal transfer ribbon and you come across this error, check to make sure that you have ribbon loaded correctly in the printer as referenced in the manual. Try cleaning the sensor with a cotton swab and alcohol. If this does not help, contact technical support. You can go into the print definitions and then paper type and set it up for the proper direct thermal media using the setup controls.
