ora 00904 invalid identifier function ORA-00904: STRING: invalid identifier tips Oracle Error Tips by Burleson Consulting Question:Java.sql.sqlsyntaxerrorexception Ora-00904 Invalid Identifier Hibernate
I am running a SQL statement and I get a SQL*Plus error ORA-00904 invalid identifier. Answer: When ORA-00904 occurs, you must enter a valid column name as it is http://oditraining.blogspot.com/2014/07/odi-errors-ora-00904-invalid-column-name.html either missing or the one entered is invalid. The "invalid identifier" most common happens when you are referencing an invalid alias in a select statement. The Oracle docs note this on the ORA-00904 error: ORA-00904 string: invalid identifier Cause: The column name entered is either missing or invalid. Action: Enter a valid column name. A valid column name http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_ora_00904_string_invalid_identifier.htm must begin with a letter, be less than or equal to 30 characters, and consist of only alphanumeric characters and the special characters $, _, and #. If it contains other characters, then it must be enclosed in double quotation marks. It may not be a reserved word. To avoid ORA-00904, column names cannot be a reserved word, and must contain these four criteria to be valid: begin with a letter be less than or equal to thirty characters consist only of alphanumeric and the special characters ($_#); other characters need double quotation marks around them Another important factor in correcting ORA-00904 is remembering to run catproc.sql You can also check your trace file to find the particular error which is causing the ORA-00904 to occur. You can find case for review regarding error ORA-00904 at this congruent Burleson Consulting site. Burleson is the American Team Note: This Oracle documentation was
issues.I am listing some of those issues which can help you. "Physical schema exception" 1) We had more numbers of joins from different tables. 2) All the tables we are https://srimythili.wordpress.com/2011/06/27/common-errors-in-odi/ not present in the same logical schema. 3) When we try to execute the http://biexplored.blogspot.com/2016/02/error-ora-00904-s.rowidinvalididentifierODI11g.html interface we were receiving a error "Physical schema exception" Resolution: Ensure that all the tables in the source are present in the same logical schema. We checked in the toad and found that they are from different logical schemas. So we again reverse engineered the tables( in the models section in designer) into one logical schema invalid identifier and the error got resolved. "Table or view does not exist" ODI-1228: Task STG_ODS_SHIPPING (Integration) fails on the target ORACLE connection DS_ORACLE_TXHY4. Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist 1)When we navigate to modules and right click on the table and click view then it should show the table. 2)But we got the error like table doesnot exist. Resolution: We found the problem with the logical 00904 invalid identifier schema as the table was not present in that schema. So we adjusted it and it worked fine. "Invalid identifier and Column name" ODI-1228: Task HYC_IHCO505d_STG_ODS_ORDER FACT (Integration) fails on the target ORACLE connection DS_ORACLE_TXHY4. Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00904: "STG_ORDER_DETAILS"."USD_REBATE_AMOUNT": invalid identifier 1)After we reverse engineered the tables process team has changed the column names. 2)we were not able to load the data as the column names are not matching Resolution: Checked in the toad and found that column name is changed. So again reverse engineering the table and then were able to load data "Insufficient privileges" ODI-1227: Task SrcSet0 (Loading) fails on the source ORACLE connection Oracle Data Staging (ODS). Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges 1)All the mappings were correct even then we were not able to load the data. Resolution: There was the problem with the LKM selection. oracle to oracle incremental update was selected and it was trying to create the view and so we selected sql to sql LKM and the interface executed well and data got loaded Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading...
