The following are the processes I've tried to get the iPhone 4 to restore. All are performed with firewalls turned off. Restore Process 1 1. Backup hosts file. Do not replace. 2. Use iReb to enter Pwned DFU. 3. iTunes restore 5.1.1. RESULT: 1602 Restore Process 2 1. Create custom 5.1.1 IPSW using redsn0w 2. Enter Pwned DFU using redsn0w 3. Shift-click restore to custom in iTunes RESULT: Hangs up on "verifying with Apple" 1602 Restore Process 3 1. Insert "74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com" in hosts file 2. Enter Pwned state with redsn0w 3. Shift-click restore to custom in iTunes Result: Hang up on "verifying with Apple" 1602 Restore Process 4 1. Put phone into normal DFU mode 2. Normal iTunes restore Result: Hang up on "verifying with Apple" 1602 Restore Process 5 1. Remove hosts file. 2. Enter recovery mode (screen is black, so I'm not sure of recovery vs. dfu) 3.
